You're right, Knoetze's accuracy with his overhand right was sucky, but my god, when he landed it ... See if you can find the Bobick KO. He dropped Bobick cold with one shot, absolute wrecking ball. Anyway, I'm not making the argument that his was the greatest of all time by any means, but it's definitely worth including in a list of notable OHR punches.
One of my favorites, Julian Jackson's semi-overhand right against Terry Norris: https://streamable.com/slfu
For something like this, I don't mind resurrecting an old thread. I always loved this shot from Ruben Olivares in his first fight with Bobby Chacon. One of the most beautiful overhand rights I've ever seen in delivery, impact and desired results. He lands it at 33:14 of the vid. This content is protected
Not the greatest overhand right ever thrown, but when you can stagger Carlos Palomino with it, it's not too shabby. Check out Dave Green's 'muckspreader' at 31:57 of the vid. This content is protected
Great shot, though I wonder if that was more straight? The first overhand that Mike knocked down Larry with...wow. How about the overhand Larry knocked Evangelista out with?
Hmmm...I always thought it was an overhand right. Those other two you mentioned were goodies as well. I also like that first right that Lyle decked Foreman with. One fighter who is criminally underrated for his overhand right is Ken Norton.
Ha ha yeah. He had such long arms. Kenny is one of the most underrated punchers of all time. I mean, he had a great left hook, right uppercut, right overhand. And his left jab is one of the greatest in heavyweight history in my opinion.
