You can't rank him above Usyk given he's the unified champion off the back of running rings around AJ. But that said, Usyk may be able to make Wilder look stupid at times but he won't be able to knock him out and if Wilder can hit Fury then over the course of 12 rounds he'll certainly be able to hit Usyk. Usyk is 50 pounds lighter than Fury........ so can he absorb the power in the same way that Fury was able ? I'm really not sure he could. H2H I'd rank Wilder 2nd...... simply because I think he knocks a gun shy AJ out should they fight and I'm not sure there's anyone else out there who can stand up to that right hand for 12 solid rounds / 36 minutes. It's not like he's a "chinny banger" either, as we've seen against Fury he showed a chin and tonnes of heart.
Agreed. If he'd have faced Povetkin in and around the time it was scheduled, the overtly racist, over hyping members of the LDBC would have been crying into their Cheerios 5-6 years earlier.
AJ landed a big right hand on Usyk and froze him in time for a few seconds. If that's a Wilder right hand, Usyk may not take it as well. We know Usyk dances rings around Wilder for most of the fight but if he doesn't get rid of Wilder, Wilder is likely to land and then it could be goodnight Oleksander. We all know Wilder isn't a great boxer. Many of the top 20 outbox him but how many of them can absorb his power and keep coming forward? Fury has proved he can but I don't think AJ, Usyk, Whyte etc do the same. That gives him a real chance of beating them all, making him a genuine contender for the no.2 spot. Call Wilder a poor boxer all you want but underestimate him at your peril. He's a live dog against any fighter in history because he's got unnatural power and the heart to go with it. FWIW my top 4 is: Fury Usyk Wilder AJ But I personally wouldn't be putting money on Usyk to beat Wilder.
Wilder has knocked out a lot of bums. The first elite boxer he has faced, and he couldn't put him away in any of the 3 fights. Knocking Fury down doesn't mean anything, cruiseeweigts have knocked Fury down. Fury got back up after each knockdown and dominated. Its weird how mythical power seems to disappear when not punching tomato cans.
Wilder has a resume that might sneak into the top 10 at present but there's easily over dozen guys in the division I would back to beat him. Is Wilder 2nd best HW at present? Clearly not. Topics like this make Wilder a very strong candidate for most overrated HW ever.
Your missing the comparison - he was saying that Wilder found Fury and Fury isn’t easier to hit than AJ and Usyk. I would have to agree that Usyk isn’t the hardest heavyweight to find, Chisora caught him plenty of times. The only reason AJ didn’t (and he still caught Usyk a good few times) is because he had a stupid strategy to try and box on the outside rather than work him.
For me there’s only one way to find out. That’s letting Wilder fight other top tier heavyweights not named Fury.
I think Wilder would bango AJ and Whyte. I believe we've recently seen things from Fury, Usyk and Wilder that AJ and Whyte just don't have.
What have you seen from Wilder? Wallin won more rounds vs Fury than Wilder did in any of his fights vs Fury.
From Wilder.. he still has insane power, a very good chin and bundles of heart and courage Wilder didn't spit out his gumshield and quit and he wasn't sparked by a way past his best grandpa. So there you go.
I saw Wilder about 3 seconds away from a KO victory on Sunday morning. Watch the second Fury knockdown. It wasn't anything Wilder did to cause that second knockdown. Fury was still stunned from the dynamite punch that caused the first one. When Fury got up that second time - brilliantly - he didn't listen to the referee's instructions to give him his gloves. Looking at Fury, that wasn't a tactic - he was totally out of it. A couple more seconds of ignoring the ref, and the fight would have been waved off. We are only talking about this now because of Fury's insane powers of recovery. I also saw a totally gassed Wilder pull out a powerful salvo at the end of Round 10, when he was pretty much running on fumes and seemed to have nothing left to offer. In short: what I saw on Sunday was a fighter who would have KOd almost any other heavyweight.
Usyk Fury Everybody else. What I will say and stand by is that Wilder is arguably the 4th best HW in the states. Ruiz, Hunter and maybe Miller all beat him.
Why not? Wilder only stood a chance because FUry was barely 50% fit if that. Wilder and AJ would be 50/50 I think. Wilder couldn't handle AJ on the side, but AJ could get clipped and that's it. But i'd have to put AJ 3rd because of the better resume.
