Porter has already lost to every elite fighter (Thurman, Spence, and Brook), you could also make the argument he lost to Ugas. But I keep hearing boxing fans saying, "If Crawford beats Porter, he's the best in the division and P4P 1." Honestly, I disagree. I think a win over Porter keeps Crawford exactly where he's at.
It was very close fight with Spence. Crawford needs to look very good and stop Porter to make a statement
Depends, if Crawford beats Porter in a 7-5 type of fight then he should drop down to number 8 or below in P4P If he beats Porter 10-2 or 12-0... then he should maintain his 3rd spot
If he beats up and stops Porter, it's highly impressive. If he looks how everyone else has, it's impressive, but he shouldn't be held in the ridiculous top five lock position he has currently.
Porter would be a good addition to his resume, but as far as P4P goes he's getting passed by others who have stepped up (Canelo, Usyk, and Inoue at least) and I'm not sure Porter would change that. Maybe if he demolishes a Porter who is looking good he could get back to #3.
Beating Porter won’t really do anything for Crawford, but if Porter beats Crawford it will do a lot for Porter. I hope Porter wins.
Crawford has about 3 years of back payments to make on his #2 p4p position. Porter is coming to collect, so he'd better put on a show or it makes all of that praise look very bad.
Toughest fight of his career so far, and even in his losses Porter has been highly competive, so yes, if Crawford wins it proves alot. Still not enough in my eyes to dethrone Canelo or Usyk as the top 2 p4p though.
