people keep saying very good chin. His balance must be the worst in history then. Is it 6 or 7 knockdowns in 17 rounds. I don’t care if his ear drum had gone etc. He’s a one off Wilder. He’s absolute garbage but the power gives him chances in fights nobody else With his ability would have a chance in. He’s very lucky as he hasn’t worked hard to earn this and it’s not normal power puncher power. It’s freaky.
Wilder got drop by grazing body that didn't connect fully and didn't seem to be carrying power by a boxer not know for having punching power vs Fury 2. How the hell would Wilder last against hard body punchers like Gassiev and Ehyte?
Wilder decapitates The Deluxe Pudding not that the fight happens same as the Fury fight, Whyte knows he's safer just continuing his status quo of Rivas/Parker/Povetkin/Chisora level opponents with a half decent undercard and he can continue collecting a nice sack of PPV loot at the end of it. Wallin sounds about right. AJ has a better chance than Whyte but he doesn't the chin, self belief or slickness that Fury has. Wilder - AJ actually would be probably be a cracking, back and forth, up and down war with both guys getting rocked and tasting the canvas before DW's sledgehammer punches gets the win.
Well, it's a good chin because he stays upright... ish Yeah his balance is off but he gets hit hard and he hangs in there, that's a good chin in my opinion.
Yeah I know. First fight he was dropped twice and stopped on his feet.. good stoppage but he hung in there through hard and tough rounds Second fight on the floor 3 times before the finish... good knockout but he still hung in there through a terrible time. Maybe we have different definitions of "hanging in there" but Wilder took TWO long sustained beatings and went 7 rounds and was stopped by his corner and went 11 rounds and was knocked out. What does hanging in there mean to you?
Hard to say tbh...because they,ve spent so long fighting each other wilder and fury. To me watching the top 4 recently would have fury, usyk, wilder then joshua from one to four. But no one can really say for definate without them all fighting each other. Who,s to say wilders not the 6th best heavyweight and hes flattering fury the last few years. I dont think thats true...but you cant really be 100 percent certain without seeing them fight it out. Same with usyk v joshua...who,s to say joshua isnt only the 6th best and usyk is being flattered a bit. Again i dont think thats true. But who really knows. All i can say is through watching their careers...i,d have fury then usyk then wilder then joshua.
Because it’s not top trumps. Fighters aren’t scored out of 100 for ‘power’ - as you know; there’s context in the fight and obviously physics. By that point Wilder was shattered and getting beaten up. It was a really well timed body shot and obviously a 19 stone man carries power.
Rewatched the fight last night. Wilder was GONE in the 3rd before the knockdown. Either he has zero gas tank or no recovery whatsoever. I wouldn't say he has a great chin considering most people don't rate Fury as a KO puncher until he faced Wilder...
Yes. I have no idea how people could argue that the weight gain was to his benefit. Even a few users straight after the bout were citing the performance as evidence that the weight gain worked. I have no idea why. It was a disastrous decision.
He was already far too heavy in the second bout, 19lbs heavier than their first. He came in over 25lbs heavier in the third.
I have him 4th, narrowly over Whyte. I think the first three are relatively easy to mark out. My top 5 is same as Ring Magazine: Fury Usyk Joshua Wilder Whyte Fury has the overseas wins against Wlad and Wilder. He was definitively number one from the second Wilder fight once he showed that the skills were now united with power / Kronk aggression and he had multiple ways to get the win. Usyk answered the questions about his ability at the weight in London and Joshua would need a superb performance / KO win to get to 2nd but cannot get to first now without facing Fury. Then it gets more difficult. Wilder's last performance and question marks over Whyte post Povetkin one maybe gets him to 4th with Dillian having a strong argument on resume to actually be ranked above him and after that I have real difficulty separating them because no-one ever fights anyone in this division because the risks are too high. It's some form of combination of Joyce, Ruiz Jr, Ortiz, Hunter and ?. Rivas makes their list, but I think there's 3 or 4 could slot in there.
