I want to put feelers out as to what you would want in a two day seminar with me? Love to build one around boxers and MMA. Give me your honest feed back and I am open to any ideas! Tim Witherspoon
@Tim Witherspoon Educating young fighters about the business side itself of boxing could be some of the best stuff you could do. Of course everyone will want you to teach them how to box like you which would be fantastic but I think the best thing you could do is just bring Tim Witherspoon, people who do come will be enthralled to have your time as a champion and an iconic contender of your era. It will be an experience and an unforgettable moment in there lives to interact with you they'll be telling the story of how they met "Terrible" Tim for the rest of there lives trust me- But to you it might just be Friday. I think a lot of big timers might forget just how special you are to us hardcore boxing fans so keep it mind that all they want are a few lessons, some of your unheard stories and a few photos to show there buddies who grew up watching you. You can't not succeed. If I lived anywhere near Philly (I live in another country) and you were giving a seminar on how to best serve cottage cheese and crackers I would be there without a doubt just get the word out and good luck champ!
I just did. @Tim Witherspoon the only reason I moved your thread over to the General Forum is because at this point, the Boxing Training part of the website is basically a derelict wasteland, that no one visits. So in order to maximize views and responses, it's better to put it over here. Even though you were right, usually threads like this belong there. But... you're Tim Witherspoon, so an exception is made for you.
Realistic expectations... Very few can make a successful or worthwhile career. But as both a hobby and fitness, boxing is great for all. Most of your crowd will be this type. And maybe market it that way. Maybe go through what equipment and gear one should look to purchase, from bare minimum experimenting to the different levels of hobbyist.
