I'd love to see Fury and Breland team up in the courts for defamation.
This is a **** weak example of backpedalling, which just so happened to come out after the release of the post-fight video. His PR team are in damage control.

Where are the apologies for the false accusations?

Why is Wilder getting props for 'recognising he lost'.

Hood Bambi lost 2 times conclusively and robbed Fury in fight 1. It's heartwarming to hear he's accepted his loss like a 5 year old child.

    Participation award up next?

I know irony and hypocrisy is the standard around here but its still funny seeing a thread with Wilder congratulating Fury be filled with a bunch of classless forum dwellers typing relentlessly about the classlessness of Wilder.

The hypocrisy of this forum would make for a decent Monty Python skit.

I want to thank God for allowing me to grace the world with my presence, what a bunch of turnips this guy and his team are. At least whoever wrote that for him remembered to congratulate the man who beat him 3 times.

Fair play to the man. I think fury had a right to be aggravated by it all...must have been 2 years of accusations etc...at least wilder finally gave him the credit that was due. Hard to do for wilder but at least he got there in the end. He fought well on saturday night gave it his all and hopefully can have another go at it all after s good well deserved break.

If it was genuine, sure. But it's not.

This 'sincere apology' was offered hours after the post-fight video was released. Clearly his PR team are trying to save face, as Wilder quickly undid the bravery put forward inside of the ring.

If Wilder was half the 'man' he thinks he is, he would come out and apologise for the pathetic excuses he made after fight 2.
The only time he will do that is if Fury slaps him with a lawsuit, but he won't.

imagine if Wilder kept this up but even better each time?

like posting to instagram etc about how he was so upset at loosing the first time he lost his way and took the dark road?

Wilder could become the best turn around story ever and then he could twerk all he wants and people would love him instead of hating him for it!

He released a statement praising Fury. Didn't make excuses for the loss. Did everything they insisted they wanted him to do postfight.

    Still aren't satisfied.

They have to be totally "outraged" at Wilder for something. That's what they've lived for on this board for 20 months.

    Think. Think. Think. :BangHead::eusa_doh::facepalm:

Give him some props. It's a good statement and for the first time he wrote something REAL and no crap about spiked water, fake gloves and a 100 pound costume. Wilder behaved like an idiot in the past but he delived a great fight, showed TREMENDOUS heart and will and finally put a solid final note under the Fury trilogy.

AFAIK,Smoking Joe was never able to forgive Ali for the scumbag things Ali said and did to / about him. I remember hearing that when Joe was asked what he thought about Ali lighting the Olympic flame for the 96 Atlanta games, Joe replied, “I was hoping he’d fall into it.”

Good, finally. Would be better if he said it but at least he did finally what we expect of a former world champ.

Sometimes, after a contentious build up and a competitive, difficult, ultimately losing fight it can be hard for a fighter, especially one with an ego, to be a gentleman after the loss. This is not to excuse Wilder, it's just to say I understand his poor actions. It is good he finally acknowledged Fury but it is just too bad he didn't do it when he should have.

He said he wanted to throw Ali into the flame lol!
The 2 went back & forth, sometimes Frazier forgave, other times angry...Ali was horrible to Frazier & deployed vicious racist stereotypes after Frazier both gave him money during his exile & intervened at the highest levels to help him get his license back.
His kids needed protection after the abuse.
So while not The Buddha, this & the fact that Ali took forever to apologize & take responsibility, & I do not know if he ever really did so Man to Man, while becoming more & more worshipped...It is understandable if Frazer could not rise above.

Wilder experienced no such similar abuses.
I would applaud the statement, but it both does not sound like Wilder, yes he did not apologize for other things like the now years of false accusations... And something nobody has written here, it sounds a bit self-aggrandizing.
At least he may be dealing with reality as best as he can now.

I'd take that congratulations with a pinch of salt. Seems more like damage control to me, since the audio of him in the corner was released on the same day.
Still a sore loser with no class but we move on.
