Yes, he finally admitted it about 40 years later.

Maybe Wilder will have a change of heart in 2061.

Nothing is ever Wilder’s fault is it and he holds no responsibility at all. Wilder wanted a yes man and Breeland was a a yes man. That right there is on Wilder. Wilder is the boss and I don’t care who the trainer is , they can’t make a boxer do what he doesn’t want. Sure a richer more famous trainer would probably walk away but Breeland isn’t that. The point is Wilder ran his camp. This is no different that Ruiz blaming everyone but himself for his own lack of self discipline.

"The fact that no one else has ever hired that guy as a trainer even though everyone supposedly thinks he's "great" says it all." Man all your posts are just repeating this...no one cares , Wilders considered a ****ing moron & Breland a gent, get over it ,nothing you post will change that view...

I have no issue with Breland making as much money as possible from Wilder, however if the $$$$$ was reason he stayed on as trainer, then perhaps it best this "extremely humble & calm" guy now says nothing, rather than implicating himself in the supposed **** storm by his i was just a yes man in camp.

Why shouldn't he say something when he was called a traitor and backstabber. From Wilder's mouth "“I believe he (Mark Breland) was part of it (the conspiracy)," Wilder told World Boxing News. "We had people of Fury’s team yelling throw the towel, and you got a rematch (to Breland). Even more so, I think he had something to do with (putting something in) my water as well."

He didn't fire Breeland and said he sucked as a trainer I need a new team. He flat out called the man a criminal. If Breeeland wasn't the humble guy he was he would have sued Wilder's ass for defamation and he would win. No way in hell Wilder proves either one is true, that Breland poison his water and conspired with the Fury camp.

Breland of course can say or do what he wishes, however because he can does not mean he should.

My question is what gain has Breland achieved by making that statement?. Everyone knows what Wilder said was utter nonsense and were clearly the made up excuses of a soundly defeated then ex champion, in my opinion no defence by Breland was required or indeed advised, better to heed the quotation "You can’t separate a fool from their foolishness. You gotta separate yourself from that fool"

What i take from reading the article is how Breland collected his fee as a trainer but was not fulfilling that role, albeit according to him because he was not permitted too, if that was the case i sure would not be going public with that information, i would be keeping quiet as i do not think it reflects well upon Breland, and most certainly not on his boxing trainer reputation.

What do you mean he shouldn't? You mean he should allow Wilder to call him a cheating liar? You sound like you just don't want to hear what anyone has to say but Wilder. Let Wilder run his mouth no matter how crazy it is but if someone else says anything, even in defense of their character, it is wrong. Yes Breland had to say something. He didn't just do nothing, he was told what to do by his boss. This is saving his boxer training reputation.

He throws in a mean towel.

    Got it.

If anyone needs a towel thrower that only charges a couple hundred thousand dollars a year, he is the man.

Wilder showed some improvement in the first few rounds with Malik Scott as his trainer vs Mark Breland.

If Wilder wasn't listening to Mark Breland or didn't respect Mark Breland then the trainer should actually look at himself. Breland destroyed his credibility by staying with Wilder for so many years and getting a free paycheck for nothing

Don't try to sell me. Sell every professional boxer who has participated in the sport of boxing for the last 13 years ... none of whom has ever hired Breland as a trainer except Wilder.

He's good at throwing in the towel isn't exactly a selling point. Especially not for a guy who has been making six figures while admittedly having no impact at all.

Breland's not a trainer. He found one meal ticket and was satisfied with that. He didn't even have Wilder's phone number. Never spoke to him alone in years. He said Wilder didn't even have a cut man. A trainer is also supposed to know how to repair cuts, if there is no cut man. Breland couldn't even do that.

    He's unemployed for a reason. ;)

As i stated Breland can say or do whatever he wishes.

How in the hell do you surmise that i don't want to hear what anyone says but Wilder, i clearly stated that what Wilder said was "utter nonsense and were clearly the made up excuses of a soundly defeated then ex champion." I have said numerous times on this forum across many threads that i switch off from the verbals of boxers, and that although lot of folk find these verbals entertaining, i find them at best boring and more befitting a certain wrestling promotion, so no i do not want to listen to Wilder.

Breland has nothing to defend, everyone knows Wilders claims and allegations had zero credibility or truthfullness

If you feel that Breland was wise to make the public statement and it helped save his boxer training reputation then that is your opinion, however it an opinion i don't agree with that is all.
