I don't understand how people can't just interpret that fight as AJ just being outboxed by a superior boxer. Usyk completely outthought and outboxed Joshua. No one else Joshua has fought is on the same level as Usyk. He was also instructed poorly by his corner, who just kept telling him "brilliant boxing AJ". Compare that to Fury's corner who were saying "what you doing? throw that jab, set up that right with that left", and from that round on Fury dominated the Wilder fight. Joshua's corner are partially the problem.
We still don't no how good Wallin is yet. A decent performance in defeat against Fury and clear win over a gate keeper. Schooling Breazle is nothing special by comparison AJ stopped him and he was wrecked in round by Wilder. AJ doesn't like speed and movement - Wallin has neither. He's neat and tidy but not a puncher. Aj 8-10 stoppage.
The amateurs are irrelevant now. When was the last time Wallin worked as AJ's sparring partner? I'd make AJ a very strong favourite to beat Wallin, but Wallin's probably well removed from the amateur and sparring partner days now, to be fair.
I agree, he was outboxed by the superior boxer, I just felt watching it that when it was clear the boxing plan wasn't working he lacked the confidence to switch into a more offense minded approach, obviously that was largely down to Usyk's ability and movement and Usyk seems good at deterring bigger stronger fighters from bulling in on him, and I definitely agree AJs corner did him absolutely no favours. With AJs skillset and physical attributes, he should on paper be able to beat anyone on his night, but without the confidence he showed earlier in his career I find he is too hesitant at times and doesn't trust himself in a firefight
People have been waiting for this opportunity since the Ruiz fight to do this. Loses to one of the most impressive and achieving outboxers of our time? HES A BUM!!!! Expected.
