He will fight Dillian Whyte sometime March-May 2022 (providing Whyte beats Wallin). It will draw good numbers and it's a fight Fury would be heavily favoured to win in style.
Everyone is motivated by different things. Fury has often said he doesn’t care about money and belts so I guess that means he wants to be known as the best by beating the best. I also didn’t say he hasn’t done enough, just hasn’t done it all. How many times did he defend all the belts?
He's admitted himself he's prone to self destruction when he doesn't have any specific motivation to focus on. I wish him the best but with the demons he has I'd be surprised if his post-boxing life will be idyllic. Which is why I think if he's physically still well it's probably best he continue to fight and train even post a potential Usyk fight.

Totally agree with that, the only issue is there aren’t many challenges left. Usyk is one, maybe AJ/Whyte. At his age Fury won’t go on for much longer. He also definitely needs a challenge to be motivated. I don’t think he was really ‘up for it’ last weekend, his conditioning wasn’t great as a consequence.
Making a single solitary defence of your title is hardly "going on forever" though, is it? Fury's had tons of time off and he's got a bit of catching up to do to solidify his very promising legacy. I think the AJ fight is still a great legacy fight even if AJ is without titles, and of course Usyk. If after those fights he managed to beat a future world champion like, say, Sanchez or, I dunno, Dubois once they're more established then he'd have beaten 3 separate generations of fighters, which is an awesome legacy. AJ and Usyk are essential legacy fights. If he could rack up 2 or 3 more defences after that against future contenders/champs that'd really put him up there in the ATG rankings in terms of résumé.
If he does retire now without facing Usyk, AJ and or Whyte he cannot be regarded as the best of the era because all it will mean is he beat Wilder. He may well be the best of his era but he needs to prove it by defeating all the kings and his mandatory. I would also advice him to stay away from Joe Joyce.
You may be right i've not watched it again since it was live and I cant remember when the cut happened I just remember it being a bad one.
Why is defending your title not motivating. Fury says he suffers when he doesnt have a goal. A defence even against an easier opponent is a goal right? He just needs to stay busy. Relax for now then back on the horse for a fight in say march/april.
How is Usyk not a goal to strive for? He's the biggest goal in the heavyweight division FFS. If Fury retired then that's one massive duck, and indefensible.
I keep hearing this. Joyce would get absolutely clowned by Fury in my opinion, and I really like Joyce! Fury does need to fight both AJ and Usyk though, you are spot on there.
I beg to differ. I like the guy. And think he is a top fighter, but he won't be able to touch Fury. The style matchup does not work in his favor.
