I love Navarrete a lot but he better avoid those carbs because he doesn't look so hot without his reach advantage.

Its not like a close UD with Gonzalez is shameful but the change against someone with his reach is pretty drastic.

116-112 was okay I guess lots of close rounds.

    118-110 seems gay as ****.

Time for Navarette to move up. No more excuses. 126 is a wasteland.

Both of these guys are incredible but the champion is just a bit better.

I banned you because you were being annoying and derailing the RBR with your stupid ****ing bull****. But only for a few minutes, so don't get too frazzled. The term weight bully isn't used by "casuals" you twat, it's used when there's clearly fighters who are adept at draining down to near catatonia and then coming back the next day rehydrated up 3 weight divisions, because their build is usually unique and allows them to. It happens all of the time, if you're blinding yourself to that, then that means you're in denial. But.. but... but... if they can make the weight, they aren't weight bullies!!! Yeah, okay. One size doesn't fit all, case by case basis. Navarette was clearly a weight bully at Super Bantamweight, but now that he's moved up to the division he should've been fighting in for years, he's not that special anymore now is he?

And I don't care how long you've been on this site.

Hot take: That fight was better than Fury-Wilder III, in spite of having less dramatic shifts in momentum. Don't think it's quite as good as Esrada-Gonzalez II, but it's damned close and makes my short list for FOTY right now.

There were a metric ****-ton of close rounds, but Navarette seemed like the close but clear winner for me after sealing the deal in the championship rounds. 116-112 cards were fine. 118-110 is out to lunch. Gonzalez showed crazy heart to persevere and trouble Navarette greatly after getting his face turned into an abstract portrait. Hope he recovers from that abuse and gets another crack at a title. He deserves it.

I wouldn't co-sign this entirely, but... I like the sentiment, and want to agree.

I would rewatch Navarrete Gonzalez AND Santillan Ruiz before I would rewatch Fury Wilder 3.

Regarding FOTY there was so much significance to Fury Wilder and AJ Usyk, that does count for something.

It should be noted that I'm more willing to be talked into a scorecard that awards Gonzalez more rounds and earns him a draw. I had it 116-112 Navarette, but it was quantity/quality in a lot of cases, so I could see cards being closer.

I'm dying on the this fight beats Fury-Wilder III hill, though. I'll stain the rivers red to defend that view.

I'm too tired to try to convince you. But @IntentionalButt and I both had it 114-114 if that counts for anything? That's the best I've got.

Fury looked like he barely trained for Wilder. Was the least refined performance I’ve seen from him in years. He barely jabbed. He respected Wilder so little he fought him at his own fight. A brawl.
