Just curitous who you guys pick for each of the main divisions. My initial thoughts would be something like: Heavyweight Lennox Lewis Light Heavyweight Joe Calzaghe Middleweight Bob Fitzsimmons Welterweight Ted Kid Lewis Lightweight Freddie Welsh Featherweight Jim Driscoll Bantamweight Pedlar Palmer Flyweight Jimmy Wilde But I'm sure I've overlooked some.
S-HW Lewis Heavyweight Farr/Bugnar Light Heavyweight Harvey/Mills/Conteh S-MW Calzaghe Middleweight McAvoy/Benn Welterweight Ted Kid Lewis/Roderick Lightweight Freddie Welsh/Berg Featherweight Jim Driscoll Bantamweight Pedlar Palmer Flyweight Jimmy Wilde/Lynch and a good few more just as good or better.
I'm none to sure McAvoy should be rated above Turpin or Harvey,or that Mills would beat Finnegan and Cockell at175lbs. Wilde/Lynch is spot on for me. I don't think Berg did much at 147lbs certainly not as much as Stracey.
Jack Kid Berg for 140lbs, not a classic division unfortunately. Though I find Berg hard to rate as he scored his best stuff around different weight classes. It makes him more likely to be forgotten unfortunately. Also, I wouldn't rank him but a very underrated British fighter is Seaman Tommy Watson. He has a win over a (faded) LaBarba, fought Kid Chocolate to a decision and has wins over other top fighters and contenders, especially on the British scene. Very underrated imo. Record of 112 wins, 9 losses and 2 draws. I just wanted to mention him as I've been looking into him.
