Yes, some of the best ever seen in an offensive heavyweight. In the Tommy Gibbons fight, he slipped twice as many punches per round on average, as Foe Frazier did in the FOTC.
A 185lbs man against a 245lbs man who is at his natural weight, plus it was in the 1910s, it was obvious was dempsey was gonna do, he would lunge in with a hook, he had fast hands and power, but so did Tua, he clearly wasn't an evolved fighter in comparison to modern boxing, Tua would not struggle to find the chin of Dempsey, Dempsey cannot box on the backfoot, he has to fight with Tua and he can't avoid every punch incoming from Tua, Tua can take Dempsey's punches, Dempsey would not be able to take Tua's, he is simply too big
Tua didn't run right through anyone at 245 pounds. He was at his best weighing about 225 pounds, but Tuas best, imo isn't enough to make up the weight disparity. Dempsey is taller, better range and more explosive. I see it being a shootout, but one Dempsey wins. If fat Tua shows up Dempsey smashes him. If lazy Dempsey shows up, Tua smashes him. But prime for prime I take Dempsey.
You believe if this 250lb version of Tua (27 years old) and Jack Dempsey collided into each other for a shootout (aka Dempsey doesn´t give any ground), Dempsey smashed him? This content is protected Thats a fellow who went 12 with Rahman and 9 with Vitali.
Smashes is the wrong word. I'd say outlasts. Tua was much more effective at 225, I don't believe the extra weight ever helped him in his career.
why are you wasting time explaining something that is obvious that dude is trolling nobody really believes jack a lw who stuggled with those dudes back then who dave would never stuggle with can beat dave
no legend primo he doesn't believe it why would anybody believe a lw who was outdated in skill/movement known to be hurt by way less can beat dave doesn't make any sense the dude is trolling doesn't matter which weight dave comes in he is way to big and hits way to hard for that small man
I love Dempsey but I don't see anyway he survives Tua. Tua excelled against men who came to him to fight .. he lost to men that could outbox him and stay away .. Dempsey at 188 pounds does not match up well against a 230 pound tank that starts fast, hs terrific hand speed, strength, a concrete chin and insane two handed power .. Tua pretty early for me ...
