I think (old) Wlad could've beat him in the rematch. I honestly think it was a bad night for Wlad (maybe a bad strategy / advice from his corner), but he was certainly not throwing and he would have probably thrown more in the next fight.
Certainly not on this website , don't forget Fury is a h2h monster that beats any heavyweight in history and if you disagree you are a Joshua fanboy.
I just think Fury is a bad style match up for Wlad…. Wlad has very long arms and so does Fury ( longer actually) but Fury knew how to make Wlad have to constantly reset by tying and spinning and hitting in between. It was actually a brilliant strategy. Because he basically beat Wlad at his own game. The thing with Wlad is if he got braver and went for the kill more Fury might stop him because Wlad was chinny. Fury took those bombs from Wilder and was able to recover.
Prime Fury will always beat prime Wlad imo. AJ on the other hand would have lost to semiprime Wlad any day of the week even if it was at Wembley.
Fury had a great strategy, no doubt. I think Wlad being reluctant to throw his hands more was also why he lost. He was also gunshy fighting Bryant Jennings for some reason. The guy was also 39 years old which may contribute to it. Can Fury knockout Wlad, probably, but I think the more likely situation is Wlad laying out Fury. Wlad was giving it to him in the 12th round and was very close to ending it if one of those landed.
Most versions of Wlad beat most versions of Fury. Fury got incredibly lucky that the worst version of Wlad showed up on the same night as the best version of Fury. It's a foregone conclusion that Wlad with Steward in his corner pounds Fury into unconsciousness.
Prime Wlad fought exactly the same as Semi Old Wlad AJ fought the OLD, no belt, defeated version of Wlad and still almost lost
I used to think Wlad would beat him but now I'd favor Fury to win most of the time. I really don't give Wlad much of a shot outside a puncher's chance against a rampaging Fury. The focus is always on how Wlad fought and what he didn't do. But really, Fury was also holding back and not fighting to his capacity. If anything I think Wlad got lucky that Fury was choosing to box that fight... Because if he starts rampaging, I just don't see Wlad hanging with him.
A prime version of Wlad flattens him, no questions. There's a reason Fury swerved the rematch. He didn't like what he saw in the 12th and he realised, imho, that Klitschko had had a lightbulb moment, just like he'd had a lightbulb moment in the 12th against Wilder. Wlad had been looking iffy in his last match and age was clearly catching up to him. Let's see how Fury looks at 39.
Wlad made 18 defenses and got tripped up at age 39 going for number 19 in a snooze fest. Honestly it was a horrible fight. Wlad didn’t engage and neither did Fury. Beating Wilder whom can’t box at all does nothing to let me believe he beats Prime Wlad. In fact I think Wlad would of defeated him in rematch given the opportunity that Fury never gave.
Wlad was looking pretty fluid in the 12th. He was doing his little shimmy when he starts feeling it. One of those left hooks almost landed. I think Wlad and his team would have realized that and prioritized that in the rematch. I'd love to see how Fury would handle being dropped by a left hook by Wlad because that would be outrageous if he got back up after that. It's one thing taking a straight right from Wilder and another taking a left hook from Wlad.
