    Wilder's best wins -

    Ortiz
    Breazeale
    Washington
    Arreola
    Stiverne
    Spzilka

    Whyte's best wins -

    Parker
    Rivas
    Chisora
    Helenius
    Wach
Povetkin (post covid) - Putting this down the list because this version of POV was barely able to stand up. Not much of a respectable win

Whyte's wins are SLIGHTLY better, but his loss against Povetkin who was on his last legs has to be taken into consideration. I don't consider this loss truly avenged because post covid Povetkin was barely able to stand up and was out of shape. Chisora would have beaten this version of Povetkin.... Wach probably could.

I don't see why Wilder would be rank 3/4 before Fury loss and now rank 5. How does losing again to Fury lower his rank? Fury is rank 1.

It's difficult to call, but I'd still have Wilder rank 4 over Whyte, mainly because of that Povetkin loss, and no win to really redeem that.

Wilder has only lost to Fury while Whyte was knocked out by ancient Povetkin and AJ

Wilder has only fought Fury. That's the problem.

    With respect, that's Bull****.

Whyte's wins are significantly better - Chisora has a better resume than Ortiz and isn't even Whyte's best win.

Wilder's resume is absolute gash for someone who held a belt - he had all the ability to get whatever fights he wanted to improve that resume and didn't do it.
Whyte's got a better resume by far despite having less of a carrot to dangle to get it.

H2H might be 50/50, resumes aren't remotely close.

Fury is better than both combined. No problem.

Ortiz best win - Jennings, gatekeeper.

Chisora's beaten several gatekeepers and gone 50/50 with Parker who's considerably better proven than Ortiz himself.

Ortiz is overhyped as hell, man.

Parker performed terribly though. He was the worse I've seen him. Barely threw anything with conviction.

Think this is a good point. Took a look at the Ring top ten. Whyte has fought 3 of them, beating Rivas and Parker and losing to Joshua. Wilder has lost to Fury and beaten Ortiz. Then Wilder's record in opponents as belt holder isn't great. That may not be his fault, but he does appear to have been very carefully and conservatively matched?

When he stepped up it was past prime Ortiz or the cherry pick gone wrong fat Fury. He doesn't have the names on his resume that could help to place him higher at the moment and as stated above, his last 5 performances aren't really deserving of a higher placing. I'd still make him favourite against Whyte, but the Boxrec ranking seems fair enough to me.

Makes sense considering Beyonce's only accomplishment is beating a geriatric Cuban pensioner who is on blood pressure medication yet still schooled him throughout both fights.

The argument that Wilders resume is trash and that he never wanted to fight someone does no longer hold up IMO.

Once upon a time there were Tyson, Wilder, and Joshua. They were supposed to fight each other. Tyson and Wilder actually did, 3 times. 3 epic fights. Sure Wilder lost but he did it against the very best in the division. Tyson Fury would be dangerous H2H to any fighter in History.

AJ is the one who didn’t fight anyone in that Holy Trinity. And looked bad his last 4 fights. Wilder went out on his shield.

That Whyte has not had a title shot at this point is criminal but that’s another story.

Wilder has two wins over Ortiz and two wins over Stiverne. Wilder dropped Ortiz four times in two fights and knocked him out twice. Wilder dropped Stiverne four times in two fights and stopped him once. Wilder dropped Arreola and stopped him. Wilder dropped Washington and stopped him. Wilder dropped Breazeale and stopped him. Szpilka was carried out of the ring on a stretcher.

Whyte went the distance with all the guys you listed there. And, unlike Whyte, Washington and Duhaupas BOTH knocked out Helenius. Szpilka beat Wach.

Whyte doesn't have a better record than Wilder. It's not really debatable. He didn't beat better fighters. He lost to lesser fighters. He's never accomplished as much, amateur or pro. Never held a major title.

If they rate him higher, it's up to Boxrec to defend that.

    1. Boxrec rankings are atrocious and we all know this.

    2. I don't like Wilder but no way should he be ranked lower than Whyte. White was slept by an on his way out the sport guy only two fights ago. And before I hear the chants of "he avenged his loss", it was avenged against an again "on his way out the sport guy", who had really hadn't recovered from Covid.
