    Context, as usual, escapes you.

I said 9 of the 11 losses were to legit contenders or elite fighters - Kabayel is not that, so he's not on that list.

Only losing to Fury when he's the only legit contender Wilder ever fought? No, that doesn't help his resume.

Getting knockdowns in fights were Fury was visibly unfit is better than getting dominated without reply by unfit Fury, but still losing to an unfit fighter doesn't earn credits in my book.

And we'll have to agree to disagree over #1 - I don't consider it a successful defence when one of the cards is so wildly corrupt.
The absolute best I can manage to score for Wilder is a draw in that fight, the card that had Wilder winning by miles is absolute BS to the extent I don't think even you can defend.

Again, I was only talking about losses to fighters who were elite or legit contenders..

I also wouldn't call it "AMAZING" and never have - it's a solid gatekeeper resume.
What I said was it's s better resume that Ortiz has - and that's a very easily defended position.

As usual, you don't read properly, don't think properly and spout absolute bullcrap as a result.. which is why I don't talk to you on Wilder topics, your biases ruin you.

AJ has one win and one loss go Ruiz.
Wilder has 2 losses and a robbery draw to Fury.

    Not the same.
    Not difficult to comprehend.

A loss on a bad night is one thing, getting dominated three times is something very different.

See above, this isn't difficult - getting knocked out by a superb counter when dominating is different from getting dominated three times...
Regardless of the rematch giving Whyte a technical redemption, he probably would've won a rematch anyway on the basis of the first fight.

Like I said, rate them H2H however you want, just don't pretend that the resumes justify it when they clearly don't.

I think AJ, as the far more proven fighter, probably dominates and beats Wilder regardless... But AJ's lack of heart is a questionmark and if he gets tagged it wouldn't surprise me if he capitulated.

Context seems to escape you. Using your own criteria, that proves Chisora isn't even on Kabayel's level.

You don't get to have it both ways.

Not when they come against the opponents they came against, with three of them highly controversial and close-run affairs against legit contenders. Ortiz doesn't have close-run affairs because he never fights anyone good, or when he does he gets brutally KOed.

Anyway, answer the question. Who are Ortiz's top five wins?

Ruiz is no Fury, and out of shape Ruiz definitely is no Fury.

    Same with Povetkin.

    Bollocks does it.

Losing a close decision when you fight badly, no rematch for redemption... It's a bad loss, but the context matters.

Losing twice by KO/TKO (by your own logic more impressive than points, not that I share that view necessarily), and scraping what's almost unanimously agreed to be a fortunate draw - that's clearly showing that one fighter is not the equal of the other.

    This isn't difficult.

What the **** are you talking about?!

Neither of those examples involve Fury... Whatever point you're trying to make here, you're not making very well.

Fury wasn't a Current World Champion in either of those first two fights. He was unranked after announcing his retirement. WBC artificially boosted him up the rankings not long before the fight in that mysteriously co-operative way they have with Wilder, but Fury had only beaten Seferi and Pianeta in what were effectively exhibition matches.

The funny thing about your own and others attempts to present Wilder's pursuit of Fury as some kind of principled search for the toughest opponent is that he and his team thought they were being clever in picking Fury. Here was a guy with massive name recognition who wasn't living the life, signs of mental issues, had been grossly overweight and fallen out with the trainer who had overseen his rise to fame. What an opportunity to claim a name scalp with little risk. Of course we know how that went down and the stink from those scorecards in LA together with Fury's seeming lack of offensive capacity led Wilder to roll the dice a second time, albeit with the safety net of a rematch clause.

Whyte meanwhile hasn't had the belt to allow him to pick and choose as much. He's held on to that WBC number one ranking in the vain hope of getting a shot and had to pick fights in the meantime that will generate money and hopefully not present too great a risk. Thats the game after all, that all the boxers play.

You're right it isn't difficult. Wilder has a better resume than Whyte.

Should I post where they were rated when they fought them? It's not going to help Whyte.

Fury was the Ring champ when 2018 began. Fury was rated #3 by Ring when he and Wilder fought the first time at the end of that year (only behind Joshua and Wilder - both of whom had all the belts).

Fury was rated #1 when they fought the second time in 2020. Wilder was #2. They fought for the Lineal title.

Fury was World Champ when they fought the third time a couple weeks ago. Luis Ortiz was #5 when Wilder fought him in their rematch (higher than he is now).

Wach wasn't rated by Ring when Whyte fought him. Chisora wasn't rated by Ring when Whyte fought him. Rivas wasn't rated by Ring when Whyte fought him. Povetkin was rated at #7 (below Ortiz) when Whyte got starched by him.

Over their last five, Wilder has fought primarily the best. Whyte has primarily fought unranked fighters and Povetkin, who wasn't even rated as high as Ortiz when Wilder fought him. And Whyte got KOed.

Use the ratings now. Use the ratings then. Neither helps your case.

Wallin, his upcoming opponent, isn't even rated now.

So did Jesse Ferguson. He's basically becoming the British version of Ferguson.
