He's rated too high, but if that means Whyte, Wilder, Ruiz Jr, or Joyce mix it up to get a crack at Fury I'm all for it!

Back to back clear ko losses and retains top spot absolutely ridiculous. Completely unfair to guys trying to earn it. But I don’t expect anything from the corrupt belts.

He should be way down in the list. When you lose not once but consecutively by KO, you need to work your way up the rank.

Not in the order, but their top 7 is surprisingly good for the WBC standards.

    Called it again

How did he retain the #1 spot after coming off a completely one-sided beating?

How does he still retain it after coming off back to back beatings and stoppage losses?

He should be 2-3 in his last 5 fights and his last win was just under two years ago against a 40 y/o Luis Ortiz and his win prior to that one was Breazeale who booked himself his shot and mandatory position by beating Eric Molina in a WBC eliminator, that's the same Eric Molina who was 3-2 in his last 5 fights, was coming off a majority decision win over 13-35-7 Terrell Woods and a one-sided TKO 3 loss to AJ in his fight prior to that one, and a KO loss to The Tuscaloser three fights before that one, the 2 wins in between coming over a shot ancient Adamek and 5-8-1 scrub.

For the same reason, 'World Series' tournaments exist in America. Never mind the fact they only include American teams, played in America, by Americans...

Mauricio looked mortified when The Tuscaloser lost and people have been calling out the WBC shenanigans when it comes to the later for a lot longer than that, myself included.

Stiverne was made WBC mandatory challenger despite the fact he was 1-1 in his previous 2 fights, the loss being a completely one-sided one against The Tuscaloser and going life and death against 30-10 Derric Rossy who was 2-5 in his previous 7 and even worse the win over Rossy was Stiverne's only fight in almost three years (34 months) and he was 39 y/o.

Corruption. Twice in a row he got steamrolled yet he is still ranked #1! Unreal and unfair to all others. It goes to show how worthless these organizations are.

You missed out that Molina was also serving a UKAD drugs ban at the time of the Breazeale eliminator. You really couldn't make it up!
Except if you are the WBC, and what you are making up are your rules, as you go along...

edit: it was UKAD not WADA

Looking at the rankings and the fighters in there.. I can see why they did keep him at number 1.

You can't have Ortiz above him, Wilder has blitzed him twice and Ortiz is 97 years old.

Ruiz, former world champion, had a huge win against AJ, lost the rematch and embarrassed the sport turning up with 8 bellies and then struggled against Arreola, was dropped heavily and that performance against Arreola probably counts against him.

Joyce hasn't really beat anybody of note, the Dubois win was very good but Dubois himself is a prospect and that can't catapult you above a former world champion who made many defences and has only lost to one man. I think Joyce just needs a solid top 7-8 win... maybe a Frank Sanchez type win.

Parker, former WBO champion, has actually beaten Ruiz but has had some dodgy results and performances.. maybe he should be higher, above Ortiz and maybe even Ruiz... even though I think Ruiz would beat him in a rematch.

I'm not saying it's right or proper but dropping Wilder out because he lost to the best heavyweight on the planet is difficult.

And sure he took two major beatings but the fact is Whyte is above him, he isn't mandatory and I am sure he will have to fight an eliminator to fight for the WBC title.

Sorry that should be UKAD, not WADA. I'll edit it. Not that it matters, given that WBC were willing to strip Whyte's mandatory status based on the leak/rumour of a failed UKAD A-sample test, but let Molina fight with an official UKAD ban.

Hard to keep track of all the twists and turns with the WBC the last 5 to 10 years
