got a prime Ray Robinson vs. Benitez in the 154 pound division IMO, Wilfred cannot handle a mutli dimensional master like Robinson, cannot fend off his sudden attacks Wilfred's achievements include a lifeless Maurice Hope and a depressed, flat footed Duran. He will find Robinson a much more lively and demanding opponent. Sugar Ray scores a late round stoppage, only THIS TIME, the stoppage is REAL
Robinson would have been perfect at 154. Too much of everything for Benitez though Ray would have to earn it. It would high class skills on display.
Robinson had to be a huge favorite here. Nothing against Benitez. He was awesome but Robinson was a higher caliber great
I agree 100%. Both Leonard & Hearns had an easy time with him. If he couldnt come close to beating the fake Sugar, then Robinson should have no problems! Like the man says, He just about kills Benitez this is why I was questioning why Duran couldnt handle him. The real Duran should have kicked his ass
Benitez fights for a few rounds on a even level with Robinson. But only a matter of time before Sugars drilling him with hard accurate shots. The difference in the two will show up mid fight when Robinsons looking like he's having fun whilst his opponent is looking sorry for himself. The end comes before the tenth imo when Sugar ends up Ko ing Benitez.
Incredible fight. It stays close until SRR pulls ahead with more accurate shots as the fight goes. I agree Robinson would start finding Benitez late and KO him But this would be a fantastic high skill fight while it lasted.
