That's part of it. The MAIN reason is the multiple sanctioning fees for each fight.

Seems like something the WBA ****s would do. What a fraudulent organization.

He has been dissed by the WBA but honestly I don't mind. Stanionis and Butaev get their chance here.

Sue the WBA for discrimination and failure to comply with their own rules.

    The Louis Vuitton getup.

No wonder so many boxers end up skint when they're wasting their cash on a piece of fabric with a logo on it. It makes me wonder how wasteful they are in other areas of their expenditure.

It's the WBA, I'm just not surprised, this is what they do, they just make it up as they go along.

Happy to see him fight, but all the top welters should be included in this tourney. Not right to single out Ugas.

Just dispose the belt. Boxers need to devalue these alphabet titles.

Looks like they want to get rid of Ugas.

A four man tournament is ridiculous. As for him fighting say a single mandatory, I'd have no issue. Crawford/Porter are tied up and I don't think we have a date for Spence returning yet. Who else is there immediately (he loses to Vergil and Boots IMO), I don't think Danny wants to try to make 147 anymore, he retired Pac, Mikey just lost............he really doesn't have very many options for the immediate future.

Drop the belt, I'd say, if there is another bigger payday being held up from it.

Thats what you get with the WBA. Ultimately I approve the step of reducing their belts.

Apparently his promoter doesnt love him enough to write the proper check to buy him a voluntary defense.

The problem is that the bigger fights are all because Ugas has the belt; Spence and Crawford wouldn't give him the time of day, otherwise.

I feel bad for Ugas because this feels at least partially targeted, but what can he do? Not a whole lot. I even saw someone suggest that Ugas is whining about being taken advantage of the way he took advantage of the WBA system by winning the 'regular' belt but that's grossly unfair; it's not like opportunities were knocking on his doorstep.
