Yeah you're correct and it is sad but very true, it would have been a crapshow if they did stop it but can you imagine the fall out if Wilder got seriously hurt or worse? Thankfully Wilder seems OK, long term I think a beating like that combined with the second fight will have caused him damage but we will see.
Oh definitely. I think if wilder took severe brain damage the blame would lay with him and scott before anyone else
He wasn't making the 11th in the second fight. He was badly hurt, more so than at any time up to the stoppage in the third.
He had dropped Fury 4 times up to that point. Saying a puncher like him had absolutely no chance of winning against a guy he's dropped multiple times, isn't realistic. If you're Wilder... and your instincts are that you can finish a fight at any time if you land 'that one punch', and you've pulled off KOs like that time and again, and you're in against a bitter rival, that you've dropped repeatedly for long counts... you probably keep willing yourself that you can land that fight changer again. It's not exactly stupid for Wilder to feel he could land that. It's not like Fury was completely immune to his power.
He couldn't finish a 30% fury in the first fight when he was fresh with a rocket of a right hand. In the two fights his legs were gone and he was taking more punishment than he had ever taken before. It wasnt Artur spilzka hitting him the odd jab and had a glass jaw, he was getting wrecked against a guy who had taken his best punches and was grand. He had no chance in both fights once his legs were gone
Wilder has a great right hand against poor opposition. His padded record makes it hard to rate him accurately. There are levels , even to power, as we saw with GGG. We know he hits hard but other than dropping Fury in 1 and 3 who wasnt a 100% in shape in either fight, and been dropped numerous times by non punchers before. There is no evidence his right hand is anything special at the top level. And unfortunately his entire career and H2H status is based on that right hand. The way we seen him struggle to KO some journeyman and his lack of any defense skill, its hard seeing him beat guys like Joshua, Povetkin , Whyte ect. Even Ruiz is a 50:50 for me. Now i would love for Wilder to prove me wrong by showing some actual balls and start fighting dangerous fighters , but i feel like he'll probably fight 55Year old Ortiz for another trilogy, next.
Arguably... But then we're any punches going to be harder than the ones that got him the KD's? From that point on, no. Was Fury likely to gas? Sure, he was clearly in poor shape and that might have created an opening... Problem is, Wilder was gone too and that makes it less likely that he'd be able to capitalise on it. He wasn't winning that fight from round 5/6 onwards, realistically, he'd blown his load by then.
When Wilder is threatened he is not as dangerous, and 35 year old, 240lb Wilder's legs do not last long. Honestly he is this century's Jack Dempsey, if Dempsey would have fought heavyweights with the size and skills of today he wouldn't have fared well.
There's no reason to re-evaluate his ring IQ, it's ****..........it's terrible. There's not much reason to even rethink what he is. He's already shown what he is. A very fast, extremely hard hitting HW. We already knew he could deliver an ending shot while hurt, we've already seen this in previous fights. We all knew he was the most "dangerous" HW out there because he could clip anyone, and everyone isn't gonna be elite enough to survive it. We all knew (even if they won't admit it), that he's quite durable (not talking about chin but durability), because we've already seen it. He said he would rather go out on his shield, and he did. Nothing about the third fight really exposed anything new.
Jesus Christ. He just finished fighting the BEST FIGHTER IN THE WHOLE SPORT - the WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION - for the THIRD TIME. The largest World Heavyweight Champion in boxing history. Wilder gave up roughly 40 pounds in all three fights. You can't fight anyone better in the entire sport. NO ONE is better than Tyson Fury right now. There is no one better to fight. At all. Anywhere. That's the top guy. Wilder already fought the most dangerous fighter in the WHOLE SPORT three times. If you fight the BEST fighter in the whole sport THREE TIMES ... you even get a court order to fight him again ... you get off the floor four times in two fights ... you go down swinging ... And trolls still say "you need to get some balls and fight someone better" ... those posters should be banned. They aren't adding anything to the discussion. It's just trolling. Plain and simple.
I think it was the end of the tenth where he threw a couple of really sloppy windmills in the last couple of seconds of the round, even at dead tired they definitely were intended to take Fury’s head off, and looked like they could. Consistent with a guy legitimately upset that the towel was thrown in the second fight, so whaddaya gonna do. Stupid or not I have to admit it makes me interested enough to watch him in a big fight again
Dear God, Dempsey wasn't Olympic bronze medalist and with huge backup. Dempsey was kid from Da Tech sttetZ far more than Mike etc heroes. Not alone to talk about D.W sandbagged hero. And Dempsey had very high fight IQ, he is one from most loved by me boxers from da tech streetZ. Why? Cos I'm from da tech streetZ, I had worked up not with prize fighting, I just did this when I loved to fight.
What a sad life, you wanna ban people because they call out Wilder for what he is, a total fraud and hype job. Go take your ALL CAPS and be salty somewhere else junior. Wilder got embarrassed and ko'd by an out of shape demotivated Fury, who was originally a cherrypick gone wrong, after all the excuses and fake allegations he made. He disgraced himself , the sport and those closest to him. He couldnt even go 12 rounds when many others have against a fit and motivated Fury. Facts dont lie Wilder doesnt have a single decent win to his name, just a padded record.
