well there were a couple of Husband wife teams, and perhaps some of the Fighter's killed in the Ring were 'married' or had a gal.

there was a Fighter who in the 70s was supposedly Shot on the Street by the Mob for not playing to the piper... if anyone remembers the Phil Donahue show, he did an Interview with Mob Wives and one of them mentioned that!

so stories like that would have certainly wounded a few hearts.

Loads. Dozens. Take your pick really.

"Hit him in the slats!" The devoted woman running round the ring calling on Fitzsimmons against Corbett ended up being pulled to the top of the stairs by her hair and kicked down them by a former champion who could not cope with the waning of his powers and sought solace in alcohol.

Jack Johnson's suicidal first wife, grief-stricken last...yeah, there are quite a few.

You know what happened to Steve monitors brother the half Canadian half boricua? Paul (older brother) had more promise out of the two, he was supposed to reach greatness. One night depressed and out if his mind after losing his spot in the sport a huge setback /drawback/loss, only he and his girl what happened that night. He stabbed her to death and is serving a life sentence. From Sarnia Ontario younger bro Steve (kid Canada) said the pros were flipping easy,it was the sparring sessions with his big bro that had him shook up. Nobody was harder to beat than Paul.

They speak to each other this day, but they never bring up the past what happened that night about 20 years ago. War Canadian kid.

How about Max's brother Sam? Sam was a genius . He was murdered by a boxer named Butler (off the top of my head me thinks) first he sucker punched grant (? Again not positive on name lol) after a charity match, breaking his jaw and lacerated his tongue in two. Served 4 months or years (?) At Rikers island. Still in complete denial about being a nut. So anyway, out of good graces, Sam let Butler stay at his apartment. End of story: Sam was bludgeoned to death and the condo was set a blaze burnt to the ground. Cleary Butler was the suspect,,, now serving 30 years at Rikers, for biting the hand that fed him- he has already served half that sentence smh. Max said it took him 5 flippin years to stop grieving. What a bad bad man that stupid boxer was. May Sam rest in peace

What about George chuvalo? Stood up to every single punch he ever took, and atg chin with heart and desire, lost all his kids to drugs. His wife, feeling the pain that only a mother could, took her own life (Lord rest her soul) when George says don't do drugs you better listen because he really means it and seen first hand what it can do. Stand up George chuvalo, brave Canadian warrior.

How about Vaughan Alexander? Devon's brother. Vaughn was always known as a hothead. He caught a case where he was sentenced to four years, to which little bro Devon Alexander said was fine, except for Vaughan slugged the deputy on duty inside the court with a big punch. The judge gave him another 3 years. Now Devon would make the trip up to jail to visit his bro, but their momma told older brother one thing "they may have you captive physically, but never let them capture your mind." These words helped him stay strong, he got his swole on, did some things he's not proud of, now has his freedom. After jail he had to bulk down a weight class or two, two bulky from all the pushups, dips, situps, burpees, pull ups, squats, . I always root for him, he is the underdog. You might remember Devon from s little fight against Tim Bradley.
