Hearn trying to make out like Wallin is ducking Babic is embarrassing. No disrespect to Babic but he's a ****ing nobody outside of domestic boxing, and of course it will be for a much lower fee. I hope Wallin continues to push for proof of the injury, because Hearn being all defensive is making this look sketchy.
TBF the mask has slipped recently. Johnny Fisher, Babic and Steve USSR Robinson being the latest who'd apparently also beat Wilder.
There's been a few on here over the short time I've been on the forum who spout similar stuff. I suspect some may be on the payroll, at least I hope they are, because it's all a bit sad otherwise. I mean, grown men blindly following promoters and certain boxers is very weird indeed. Just like I don't get the obsession with 'numbers' and ppv buys, and fighters purses some have on here. But hey ho.
Claims Salita said ‘why would we fight a guy who’s 8-0 with 8 KO’s’ course he did Eddie. I’ve noticed he’s began to do that thing where he gets irked at a question and starts counting on his fingers. Does it with AJ’s resume and did it when talking about Matchroom’s schedule... ‘we’ve had Warrington v Lara, Joshua v Usyk, Smith v Fowler’
So Hearn offered him Babic for short money? The guy's shamelessness knows no bounds. Aside from the derisory financials, you know it's not a serious offer because there's no way Hearn wants Babic's head punched in this soon, he hasn't milked this particular hypejob enough yet.
Plus i bet the money involved was less. Wallins team said they were happy to fight on bill but Hearn would not answer the phone.
This is the biggest mystery to me. It's such a boring conversation. The only people who should really care are those getting paid. But boxing is a sport with so many breaks between activity and subsequent lulls in excitement that this kind of thing gets pushed out and many boxing consumers lap it up as if it's their own cash.
I like talking the business of sport and don't find it boring in the least. It's interesting to me from a business perspective, because sometimes in sport the usual rules of business don't apply, for very particular reasons. I understand if others don't, each to their own!
