The problem is they are stuck between attracting in casual fans and pulling over hardcore fans from the Sky machine, and they are currently doing neither. Eddie clearly sees Conor Benn as the next big star, but casuals will only properly buy into him once he beats an Amir Khan type opponent, and hardcore want to see him tested against an Avanesyan, Kelly or McKinson. No one cares for these Granados type fights. Joshua Buatsi and Joe Cordina are Eddie's biggest talents who should be headlining in World Title bouts, but they are stuck at European level. I guess Eddie would say that they don't 'bring the numbers', but isn't that the job of a promoter... to bring the numbers to the biggest talents?
Do we have any idea / guesses what might be on Matchroom’s new December show that Hearn said on iFL will be earlier in the month than Chisora v Parker? I was thinking maybe a run out for Warrington?
Katie Taylor or Conor Benn headlining I’d presume. Both had fairly routine wins early September. Callum Smith needs activity too.
Exactly. I like how it just gets cancelled altogether. The should have just stayed away from Wallin in the first place.
Absolutely right and it's his own fault. By pushing the likes of Conor Benn and inflating expectations across the board, the likes of Buatsi are not strong enough to headline a show on their own, but too important to sit hogging undercards. Hearn made this bed and he can lie in it - but ultimately it's his boxers who lose out.
There are also rumors about boxers who today are at Matchroom Boxing who are just waiting for their contract to expire and then they will switch to Boxxer / Sky Sports.
This content is protected Paulie saying Eddie didn’t hire him because Frank Smith is ‘a feminine little girl’ says Sky have been in touch since Matchroom left.
Saturday’s betting odds on the Matchroom card for the favourite: 1/50 1/50 1/50 1/12 (Babic) 1/20 1/25 (main event)
Well how pathetic is that. Lousy card. I know Whyte pulled out but this has to be unacceptable. Who has bought tickets to see this ?
I just saw an interview with Eddie Hearn where he tells that there are many equal and exciting fights on the boxing card this saturday.
