He does lack pop, ergo the stoppage result merits a measured kudos. He went after it, and made up for the power shortfall with some surgeonlike precision. The referee could've let it go a bit more, but Herring's legs were starting to betray a wounded state, so I feel Stevenson would've gone on to get the finish all the same.

It's a scalp of rather middling quality, as world title level goes, but achieved in style. Hard to fault him tonight.

Hopefully Shakur go for one of the two vacant titles. The IBF and the WBA Tank just gave up.

Father time is catching up to Loma and body isn't holding up. If it happens hope it does soon and not 4 or more years down the road.

Father time will catch up, or maybe it already has. Loma moves around a LOT. I'm not so sure a style like that is going to age well

Lol. It’s like saying I would have beat the other guy if he was not stronger, faster and more skillful than I. Herring is a good fighter and champion beat by a fantastic talent today.

I would love to see Lara vs Stevenson, Lara will do what Herring was supposed to do and more. Conceicao would be entertaining too.

This is the sort of matchup to make. If you have a matador you find a bull, you don't try to glue horns on him.

yes, theres rougher dogs to roll him with, but theyre developing him. as long as all his fights are a step forward in competition, now that hes at this level, it should make for some interesting fights.

I know you're right but it's seriously ****ed up that "two weight division champion" is a stage of development before "ready to fight anyone in the division."

its cause you never reach your true full potential until you fully mature physically. until your body settles into its full design. thats why teens growing through growth spurts are so damn clumsy. its an exaggerated example of what is happening to maturing fighters as they age. body keeps changing and muscle memory has to keep adapting to constant changes in dimensions or extra weight being thrown around precisely. differences are imperceptible, but this is a game of inches and milliseconds.

You honestly don’t give hardly any of them a chance, let alone a good chance.

Jono Carroll and Leigh Wood ffs haha. I haven’t heard of half of these bums tbf

Shakur beats the brakes off the lot of them including Old man Loma

Jono Carroll is crap. No disrespect to the fighter in question but he lost to a painter and decorator last year.

Jamel William Herring Harrison is one of this great nation's finest leaders in history. And may be damned the man who says otherwise.
