The most Golovkin weighes while fighting at middleweight is 170 to 173lbs max. Canelo used to weigh this while at jr middleweight, he was 174lbs fight night against Trout. GGG would have to gain a solid 10 lbs of muscle, to fight at 168lbs = 178 to 180lbs fight night.

Regardless, Isal said GGG was Canelo's first fight at over 155lbs but that was incorrect, it was chavez jr at 164.5lbs.

The more weight you cut, the more weight your libal to gain after weigh in. If GGG was so large at middleweight he would be coming in 177 to 180lbs on fight night like Jacobs. He routinely came in fight night at 170lbs. Canelo was GGG'S weight while competing at 154lbs.

Canelo was not obligated to do anything. Why would he be on Golovkin's time?

Jacobs did good but definitely lost in my opinion, Derevyanchenko was the closest GGG came to losing, but i had GGG just edging it, but i do get it when some say he lost that one. The Jacobs fight is a stretch.

One does not just move from Santa Monica to Kazakhstan.

You mean like how Canelo fought Amir Khan instead of GGG

Agreed! But, he is the one talking about legacy and being great. Moving up to take out Golovkin when he was closer to his prime, would have gone a long way in cementing his legecy. You being a Canelo fan can't argue that.

Why he didn’t fight him in 2016? Instead he gave up his middleweight title to fight Liam Smith of all people.
