I expect Fury to win by stoppage, probably between 6-9 but I wouldn’t be surprised if Whyte makes the fight ugly and Fury is forced into a slugfest early on. If that happens there is every chance Whyte can catch Fury …

Nah i don't buy that bs. Wilder was probably undefeated because his resume is poor for a 5 year champion. Going life and death with journeyman Molina, given problems by Szpilka etc. His best win is Luiz Ortiz ffs and he was struggling heavily in both fights. Ortiz was arguably ahead in the first fight let alone the second. Hell Luis Ortiz almost stopped him in the first fight. Wilder beats Whyte but Whytes chin is pure porcelain. To say somebody like Parker or Chisora could give Wilder hell or even beat Wilder is not far fetched at all.

Wilder is so overrated it is ridiculous. The fact that Fury got dropped says more about Fury than it does Wilder, because Wilder was even slower in the 3rd fight than he was in the second and brought nothing new to the table besides the bodywork in round 1

I don't dislike Whyte, what I do like is fairness. He deserved a title shot prior to the Povetkin fight, he absolutely did. He then got flatlined, and proved he is not on that level. He worked his way up, then got KO'd and lost his position.

Let me ask you this, should he have been given a title shot directly after the KO? Since it doesn't really matter all that much?

If Whyte gets a shot at Fury it is because he will be gifted the opportunity by Matchroom, not because it was earned as it should be.

I understand what you are saying, but there have been less deserving mandatory challengers for the WBC (Stiverne {cough cough}, Breazeale {cough, cough, cough})

But, going off WBC rules and how they have been operating in regards to their interim title since 2016:

The mandatory challenger spot is attached to the Interim Title.
The champion has to fight a mandatory challenger once a year.
    The mandatory is due.

Therefore Dillian Whyte is the mandatory challenger. The WBC seem to finally agree*
*Though I think this is more due to Whyte recently starting court proceeding against WBC, which he should have done back in 2017, when they started talking about the Stiverne v Breazeale fight

Thats irrelevant - Wilder beat him both times, Ortiz was stopped on both occasions... It's like people still haven't realised what Wilder is. Yes he's not a good boxer, but **** me he is dangerous and I don't care whether you buy it or not, he gives every heavyweight in the division problems.

The fact Fury got dropped literally highlights the fact that Wilder is one of the hardest punchers of all time ffs....Wilder is hard as nails and punches like a ****ing mule, he has a high chance of knocking out every other fighter in the division.

Aye. The question is Whyte rise to the occasion. If he does and Fury doesn't anything van happen.

Fury has gotten dropped by pillowfisted guys before. Wilder beat Ortiz but struggled both times. It wasn't a blow out or even an impressive performance against the cuban and Ortiz himself lives off the Jennings win. Wilder isn't all that based in resume and H2H he's incredibly overrated. Maybe if he didn't blatantly duck Joshua and Whyte and fought Povetkin we could have seen him with 3 very impressive KO victories or maybe he would've lost 2 or even all 3 of those fights.

We'll never know. And we won't know how he stacks with the rest of the division besides Ortiz because i don't expect Wilder to fight any other top opponent soon or ever. Unless it's that glass jaw bafoon Whyte, or maybe Fury grants him another fight (why he would do that is beyond me)

That explanation certainly does make me feel better about the situation, and thanks for that. The entire situation just has a stink to it that I can't get over.

Well admittedly, I am simplifying things, but I agree with you that the whole situation is extremely murky.

Uh, article does not say it will be Whyte, only that he is on the shortlist.

Anyway, I like either fight, but his Mando deserves it. Fury, curiously, has a resume thin enough that these kind of mid-level character builders still add something, and he ought to be facing his mandatory while waiting for Usyk-Joshua II to sort out rather than drinking beer and making bizarre dance videos with Sugar Hill.

I suspect Arum is doing the same thing that Hearn was trying to pull earlier this year with Joshua/Usyk.

Fury is by far the HW out there. There's no valid argument to dispute this IMO
