All of the above indeed CAN be symptoms of a mental health issue, are they symptoms, more often than not no, they are lifestyle choices so many make. You call my comment ignorant, ok that is your opinion, but of course your posted statements are not ignorant or are they? You state "the only thing keeping him sane was his goal of becoming a world champion and training" so you are suggesting without that he was not sane AKA insane, that is quite a statement to make. Likewise you state "The guy seems bi polar and is probably a manic depressive". What tools are you using to diagnose that, have you done a full mental health assessment upon him, are you basing your probable diagnosis using DSM or ICD classifications? Calling someone bi polar or manic depressive is quite a label to put on them, and frankly unless you are a qualified mental health professional, one you are not qualified to make, and indeed would not make public if you were qualified to make it. With regard to me being mean spirited, i so wish i was, in my youth i would have welcomed that label, good for ones street cred and all that, now in my older years i laugh at the suggestion. However Fury saying in an interview that he would hang his own sister if she was promiscuous, now that is truly mean spirited in my opinion
He and his family has said he has had these issues. If you have an issue with fury grand, but belittling mental health issues makes you look like a mean spirited jackass
There's zero chance of AJ stepping aside. He found it hard enough to get Fury in the ring when he held 3 of the belts, it will be impossible without any.
Difficult to say. But I think Joshua has a good chance. He wont be the favourite, but a chance in tactics could definitely see a different results. Writing off Joshua would be incredibly stupid. If AJ pulls off a win, he becomes arguably an ATG. He'll have beaten every man he's faced, and Usyk, Wlad, Pov, Ruiz, Whyte, Parker, Pulev. That's a solid resume.
I think Usyk is physically vulnerable. He's never been really hurt before and Joshua's tactics and corner instructions were perfect for Usyk. If Joshua goes after Usyk, it could end quickly. Usyk is a favourite, but only an 8/11 odds favourite to me.
I could easily see a scenario where Joshua steps aside and both Usyk and Fury retire. He's got little options now, and he's on the decline. Better to cash out, and go back to Dorian Yates gym, and work on getting back to the Mr Olympia competition.
"If" "Could" Now here's the thing. You knew before the first fight Joshua was bigger, stronger and more physically imposing. I knew before the first fight Joshua was bigger, stronger and more physically imposing. There are pages of threads, on this and other forums, explaining before the first fight that Joshua was bigger, stronger and more physically imposing. Joshua's team also knew this. So the question now is why did Joshua try to outbox the master boxer like a vitamin d deficient circus clown? Why didn't Joshua, who knew he was bigger, stronger and more physically imposing, go after Usyk in the first fight as you suggest he does in the second? Joshua is a brand. Gifted an Olympic gold he didn't earn and carefully marketed. Is it not possible he has gone as far as he can? He didn't come back against Ruiz Jr by "going after him" as you suggest he does to Usyk? Why? Why did he stay behind his jab for twelve rounds and play it safe? What in your mind is different now, after his loss to Usyk that would make him "go after" Usyk, when he didn't even go after the weaker, less talented, less powerful Andy Ruiz Jr? If Joshua were mentally capable of "going after" Usyk, we wouldn't be having this discussion in the first place.
I like Arum, he's a relic of my father's era, which would be most posters here grandfather's era. Plus he used hang out with Hunter S Thompson Man's gotta have stories for years
It's possible definitely. But I think AJ's problem is definitely psychological now, and he can overcome it. He has talent, he's just a well marketed fraud like some people believe. He's got good wins on his record. I think his corner just underestimated Usyk. Many judged Usyk on his last 3 fights before AJ when he didn't go above 2nd gear, and people forgot about his 3-4th gears. Usyk looked noticeably quicker in this fight than the Chisora fight. Therefore I believe they thought AJ could box him and land enough shots. They were wrong.
Did you mean "he's not just a well marketed fraud"... if so I agree. He's not a fraud. He is also not a warrior. He is a physically impressive athlete who chooses to box. Usyk was 6'3" 221 for the fight and Joshua was 6'6" 240. Three inches and less than twenty pounds heavier. That's not enough to run Usyk over. I'm curious to see if AJ takes the Fury rout and adds weight or muscle before March.
Yes that's what I meant. Not a well marketed fraud. Also, it's not just about size and weight. Joshua has power, but unlike wilder, has skills. AJ is likely to lose, but I'm very interested to see how Usyk handles Joshua when Joshua actually throws something with intent. Last fight, Joshua was completely unaggressive. This fight, it will be different. Usyk will be prepared and will likely neutralise it, but you never know. Joshua has more than a punchers chance IMO.
Remember when Usyk was asked to step aside for a Fury/Joshua undisputed and his response was "**** Eddie Hearn"? No, me neither. Stay humble yo.
You believe all that Fury and his family say do you? I have zero issue with Fury, this is a boxing forum and as such if i express issues regarding any fighter it is solely about the pugilism, i have stated time and time again on this forum that i believe Fury is the best heavyweight out there. Please state where i have belittled mental health? Thank you for promoting me from as you previously called me "mean spirited", to now being "a mean spirited jackass", do i get a wage rise or is it a honorary position?
