Lennox was chinny and got koed with a single punch by Rahman, which means anything is possible. But a motivated Lennox would win 99 times out of 100 against Deontay.
He was a fast starter with fast hand speed, yes, but he was far from a monster puncher. I wouldn't even refer to him as a big puncher. As the great Steve Holdsworth said (in the midst of all of his early KO's): 01:30 "I do wonder about the power" 01:57 "He's not a banger, but..." This content is protected Good at quickly getting knock-over jobs out of there early (or giving them a sufficient reason to lie down) but not a big puncher. Briggs, not a naturally big man, either. A tall man, but not a big man. He was obviously already on the sauce during his prime (excluding HGH) and he only weighed around 225lbs. When he upped his stack considerably, he rocketed up about 20 or 30 pounds in the space of no time and his already unimpressive stamina plummeted thereafter. Bad move.
I've got another question, could Lewis outbox Wilder from the outside and outjab him? It's not how I see the fight going, or what I think would be best, but if Gerald Washington or Luis Ortiz can outbox Wilder then Lewis probably would if he chose to fight like that, the problem with that is, you give Wilder time and space to land his right hand
Lennox anytime within the first three rounds. He avoids the big windmills and waits for his opportunity The very first big 1-2 landed by LL ends Wilder immediately. He drops like a sack of…..
He out boxed big punchers like Tua and Mercer without walking into a massive shot, so he could maintain a level of focus for 12 rounds when required. As long as he keeps pumping out the jab, I think he'll back Wilder up for most of the fight, taking away the right hand of Wilder. Wilder's defence is to slip shots and create distance so as long as Lewis keeps pumping out the jab and feinting he'll have no problem keeping Wilder contained and unable to step in with his right hand consistently. But I don't think Lewis would try and box Wilder, he would jump on him and get him out early.
Lennox beats all these guys including Fury and Usyk Fury likely gives him some trouble but he would definitely lose to a prime Lewis
It's one of them where Lennox wins 8 or 9 times out of 10. If they fought 10 times I wager Lennox would get clipped and knocked out once or twice. This applies to anyone in history fighting Wilder. DW would always have a chance with his huge power but more often than not he would get brutalised by the better boxers
It’s heavyweight boxing so anyone has a chance however small but realistically Lewis beats him however he wants to. Wilder would be complaining about his dented face for years to come afterwards and his fans would be saying that the 20 second count he recieved wasn’t long enough.
Lewis no question,he is probably objectively in top 10 heavyweights of all time, his style and abilities would be too much to handle for Wilder.Wilder KO power could cause Lennox some problems but nothing that he couldn't overcome and win. Wilder gets KOd in first 8 rounds
