For me this is a really hard question,I'm a big left hook fan,I just love a good placed, explosive, powerful left hook.It would have to be a tie between Tua and Frazier

I personally think Frazier was the most effective with setting up and landing his. His whole style was predicated on it, really. Tyson would come a close second in that regard.

In terms of my favourites? Frazier (again) and Morrison for my money.

I have this really bad feeling that this will be the grounds for people being called Tyson-haters.

Holyfield left hook sent that poor guy FLYING across the ring. Holyfield footwork so good, he landed a left hook while moving backwards. Ringside folks were shocked into wake the **** up. Just what Tyson was going to get in their rematch. But...

And... no wonder he scrambled Bowe's brains. Riddick took too many left hooks from Holyfield.

So I voted for Holyfield in "other".

Holyfield left hook at 5:15 is the perfect example.

Wait a minute.. Holyfield could left hook like that at 44 yrs old? Roy Jones sure the **** couldn't.

One of my favorite punches.... Some unheralded fighters at Heavyweight like Cooper ( Both as a matter of fact) Weaver ( just ask Tate) J.Quarry had great left hooks.
But the best ( But not the hardest ) was J. Frazier. One of a very few fighters that could lead with a hook, and counter with it over a jab. ( His anticipation was almost super human, like he could read an opponents mind) the timing, reflexes , speed and power he had was better than any heavyweight in history with that particular punch.
There were harder punchers with the hook , like Tua, Morrison, Liston and Tyson. Faster with the hook, like Louis and Holyfield, but absolutely no heavyweight in history who had the total package of speed, power, anticipation, and countering ability of J.Frazier. the greatest left hooking heavyweight in history.

Frazier's is the best, in my opinion. He threw it so fast and unpredictably with very little hip or lower body movement. There are times when he throws it so fast, the film looks sped up. Very impressive speed for a natural heavyweight! As far as power is concerned, well... we all know Frazier could dent granite with that left hook of his.

Brilliant setup for that hook. Love Holyfield's style.

Tua had the most powerful left hook out of the people mentioned here with Morrison having the snappiest one along with Tyson. Louis had a good compact one but Frazier had the most effective hook.

Frazier is def possibly the best but for me itś almost dead even with he and Dempsey. Also, Cooney is in the conversation if for nothing else perhaps the hardest left hook. Razor Ruddock also had a killer hook though his was a bit modified.

Bit surprised that J Dempsey and J J Walcott haven’t been thrown into the mix as yet.

Frazier and Tua were left hook savants and deserve high or highest ranking. However, there were boxers with more broad armoury who possessed great left hooks in balance with the rest of their arsenal.
