Exactly what it says on the tin. Who's the best fighter Frazier could outpoint by avoiding his strengths and doing a slick jabbing, boxing, and moving approach instead? No perpetual motion swarming or inside fighting virtuosity in this one.

Razor Ruddock. If he had the same gamepan as he did vs Foreman? Easy $, it would be comical. Joe was landing sneaky straight lefts and the occasional isolated powershot on Foreman in there 1976. If Ruddock, Sam Peter, Bonecrusher Smith. Big, slower guys, Frazier would win.

Even his best fans and there are plenty of them here would admit Frazier had little use for a jab. He could not out point many with the jab alone and you want him to out box the other guy?

It obviously wouldn't work on a taller guy who can simply move away from him. His arms were too short try and outbox someone like Terrel for example.

Maybe Galento? Although it would be a very rough night and he may not get the nod if he avoids sticking to his strengths. It would make for a very comical scene tho.

I really can’t answer that question. I’ve never seen him fight that way.

You know what, I think this may be true literally. In his biography he mentioned how he teased the family hog on the farm and it chased him. He fell and it made his arm slightly crooked. Since they were poor they didn't have the money for proper first aid to allow the arm to heal and he could never completely straighten out his left arm. The irony is that this injury made him even better at pivoting and throwing hooks, the foundation of his style.

So no, he'd never in a million years be able to beat a professional boxer by jabbing and boxing.

There are some really bad professional boxers out there, though

They'd have to be like a D or F level guy, preferably with very little firepower and chin. I can't even see him beating someone as bad as Brian London with a half assed jab.
