He made himself the face of Boxing and told everyone no PPV, its dead etc Only natural people aim any complaints towards him
Tony Dosh PPV has had TWO fights with uncertainty and yet robbed 12 bags of PPV Loot from the PPV Mugths. Earn is a scammer marketing Joshua v Molina etc as a HUGE TEST when it was a formality. Shame on Earn
I understand that. But surely people know the difference between a content provider to a platform and the actual platform. If DAZN buy BT Sport and the start showing queensberry shows does Warren then become the guy who sets price and ppv?
Agreed Its human nature though to attack the seller rather than the senior management Rightly or wrongly You can bet when the praise comes in, Hearn will lap up the credit Can't have it both ways Warren would be treated the same if he run the most successful promotion Alas he does not so again rightfully or wrongly doesn't get held to the same scrutiny
No way a boxing promoter actually tried to sell a contest. How dare he? Next you will be telling me Mcdonalds are a disgrace marketing there burgers as desirable when in reality it's just processed garbage. You do know the public can use critical thinking or do you believe Hearn has a gift to brainwash people into giving up there money? On one hand you are saying Hearn manages to scam people into buying PPVs but on the other hand DAZN must be losing subscriptions at a rapid rate so he can't be that good of a "scammer". Which one is it?
Good point and if they buy bt sport you will see people equate Hearn with getting the EPL rights for DAZN which would be completely ridiculous. It doesn't help that you don't really hear from the DAZN execs and Hearn has in a way become its defacto go to man. You even have kugan asking Hearn about DAZN buying BT Sport when really Hearn will have no say or play any part in such a deal.
Fury will fight again, but it won't do Hearn much good, beyond making him some dough on the Fury-Whyte bout (the outcome of which will bury any notion that Whyte is a significant threat to the top guys in the division).
I actually think we have some great talent in the UK but the problem comes down to the need for every fighter to be rushed in their career, back 20 years ago fighters were fighting on terrestrial TV and were able to have a solid career until the point they were ready for a world title shot. Now all the prospects are fast tracked into fights they shouldn't be taking for the sake of platforms and subscription services needing to bring in as many views as possible, hearn is a prime example of this unless you are a future ppv fighter your career is fast tracked quickly than it should be for the sake of the broadcaster. It's.ok saying we are paying them big money but what's the point if they are taking fights that are way above their level , this only ruins careers and fighters are unable to rebuild because they are no.longer backed financially. About 10 years ago with hearn on sky British boxing was at a peak which I think will never be seen again , the talent we do have is not being managed correctly and ultimately fighters are not continuing in the sport because of the lack of chance to build a solid career.
The current UK talent level has been exposed with the beatings for the likes of Smith, Brook and Campbell at world level and the lack of progress from the 2016 olympians such as Buatsi, Cordina and the over-hyped Kelly. Only the relative success at heavyweight is propping us up, but even there are are only so many times Joshua can be brought back from the dead. My problem is the TV model hasn't changed to reflect this. Sub-standard PPVs are still being pushed out ad nauseum despite the lack of star quality. Undercards are crap because 99% of the loot still goes on the main event. Saturday fight nights are crap because they just have the leftovers. In a nutshell the problem is that 10 loss journeyman Dereck Chisora refuses to get out of bed for less than £3m. So rather than tell him to do one, Hearn goes in to BS overdrive and he gets his £3m. Great for Dereck, crap for us.
