He's done with boxing. It will take a lot for him to feel that hunger to go through the pains of training.
He can keep fighting provided you spare him from facing Tank as it’s not good for his mental health and chin.
When has early and massive fame NOT imploded an otherwise promising career? Floyd didn't gain big fame for a lonnnnng time. Fury was snubbed and still is. Seems like the fighters who get the early and easy spotlight have hearts that end up turning to glass. KingRy and AJ with their 10 million followers are classic cases.
Not excusing his behavior but wouldn’t you quit once you hit the mountain top? no sense in putting your body and your brain on the line. Kids are built differently these days.
Yeah agreed about them being built differently which is why I think he will come back as he seems like an idiot who will need more money sooner rather than later.
If he truly doesn't want to fight he should retire. At least work with Oscar to get you a cash put fight before retiring to get a few more $$$
I didn’t like him but I thought he was good for boxing. Had an exciting style and brought in a lot of attention to the sport
He doesn't seem to be focused on the sport at all. Has a lot of money at a young age. He needs to decide about his craft.
I'll give him credit for this much, that when he got into a place of anxiety/self doubt he was briefly honest about it then when he tried to push through it and failed his worst fault has been giving some excuses. At least he hasn't gone in a self destructive direction. He didn't get himself thrown in prison or go off the rails on drugs or balloon up to 400 pounds or any of the other mental implosions that we've seen before. He's young still, he was ahead of schedule when he KO'd Luke Campbell. If he gets the mental side figured out this could work to his benefit.
He'll be back when his social media money dries up which it can easily with the way he spends money. He makes about 23k a month on his youtube videos with sponsorship according to social blade. It might not be entirely accurate, though. He's also making money through instagram and his sponsors like gymshark and gatorade. I think he has property investments also. I think he makes around 800k to 1million dollars a year from social media without boxing but eventually he's gonna have to keep himself relevant. He's essentially making easy money from social media. He's been paid more only once against Luke Campbell than what he gets paid yearly with his sponsorship deals and his social media money. It wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't want to box because he doesn't think he's getting paid enough. I think that's what probably going on in his head more than just mental health issues and injuries. He just gets paid easy money through social media. If he's making such easy money i personally wouldn't have the enthusiasm to box unless i was making mega money. He probably thinks he deserves at least $2-3 million plus a fight given his social media fame. He's 22 years old and at that age he might not have the financial acumen to hold onto his money properly even with accountants working for him. He could be a mega star if he keeps boxing and is managed properly. If he fights guys he can beat for years he can be a massive superstar. If he gets thrown to the wolves and koed it might stop his rise to some extent. He could recover but it might dampen the image somewhat. I think from the boxers in his weight class he'll have a tough time copying a Mayweather blueprint because he's not a Mayweather level talent. He's a top boxer just not quite at that elite level. He's in a good situation at the moment because if his boxing career comes to an abrupt end he can fall back on the social media money and the investments he's made.
