I'm not confident it will happen, and it's not my first pick of fights anyway, but I would be curious to see Fury's strategy against Whyte. I feel like Whyte would be easy work for Fury if he uses his old backfoot/jab-and-move style, but will he instead insist on using the front-font/aggressive style he's adopted in the Wilder fights? Is that his new style? Fury got a lot of criticism for his lack of movement and feints in the 3rd Wilder fight -- was that a conscious decision on Fury's part, or has he lost some of his speed?
Whyte has a death wish.. Well he doesn't but Eddie is desperate now so he is throwing everything at it... including Whyte.
Not me, an OG Fury fan. Decent win, respectable enough résumé-filler for the championship phase of Tyson's career, nothing more.
I thought Fury was banned from fighting in the UK after UKAD allegedly dug up the farmer who said that he never sold Fury the boar, or whatever the story is. I never believed that there was a legit Fury PEDS scandal in the first place because UKAD admitted that they could not explain why they let 16 months pass without acting on the "failed test." If Fury is allowed to return at this point, then UKAD should be forced to write a formal letter of apology.
Street gangsta Whyte, who became a father at his 13, is useless for my man Fury. Whyte is Chisora level. Fury already beat prime Chisora twice. Whyte should make a trilogy with AJ. Whyte can beat the crap out of AJ at the moment.
It would be quite humorous if Fury does to Whyte what Whyte did to Wallin simply because he can't be bothered with it all. However, I think there'll be plenty of needle in the buildup to motivate Fury to gave Whyte a proper pasting.
It would be a good fight for Fury's legacy if he goes through with it. A lot of people are pointing out that Whyte is a guy who went life and death with Chisora twice and got sparked by Povetkin...true, but Fury has a dearth of even Chisora level guys on his resume, and, as has also been pointed out, in terms of raw results, Whyte is one of the top 5-6 guys in the division. As for Whyte, yeah, he is flawed, and his overall ability is such that, if Fury were motivated, he would have no chance at all. But he has the sort of punch and determination that, if Fury is not motivated, he could indeed make it a fight...similar to the Wilder fights. With Usyk and Joshua booked, Wilder finally out of the picture, and Ruiz now a guy who struggles with Arreola, I would say this is the best fight for Fury out there. Let's hope he doesn't play any games with it.
Great fight. The best possible fight available. Proof that boxing fans will moan about anything. Go to the original wallin Whyte announcement thread and now the same people are all devastated that unnecessary fight isn’t happening.
I don't understand why people say he "ducked" wallin. Wallin wasn't a mandatory, he chose to fight Wallin, Wallin wasn't entitled to a fight in the first place. It's hardly a duck if you're going to be fighting someone far superior in his place. If he'd rather fight a better fighter, for a title and more money, it's ****ing obvious why you'd do that.
They're pissed 1.) because Whyte-Wallin is a much more intriguing fight than Fury-Whyte and has been cancelled instead of rescheduled, 2.) because Whyte is deceiving people as to his reasons for bailing on his date with Wallin, 3.) because Whyte has wasted a good chunk of Wallin's time.
Useless fight. Whyte is a fat bum and journeyman these days. Let's see if he's going back to the PEDs for this one. I'd rather watch Fury vs. Wilder 4 than this crap tho. But i guess Whyte deserved his shot. He should have got a shot on Wilder years ago. Because one thing you can't blame Whyte for....he's fighting decent guys over the last few years. He obviously lost a lot of those fights / had some luck on his side with the judges but he's still one of those guys who is fighting Top 15/20 guys constantly.
