With the talk about Whyte vs Fury you would think Eddie is calling all the shots. Even though Whyte is mandatory there is nothing to stop Fury vacating or going down the franchise route. Fury will choose what he wants to do, not be dictated to by the promoter of a mandatory challenger. Fury might well decide to fight Whyte but it will be on his terms and Eddie and Matchroom for once will have take a back seat. Eddie seems to think he holds all the cards and is the A side. Unfortunately for him his grasp on being the main man in the heavyweight division has evaporated after Usyk schooled his golden goose
You're right there is nothing stopping Fury from vacating the title to fight lesser opposition or retiring to duck the Whyte mandatory when it is called. Unfortunately it's more likely that Fury will do this than fight Whyte looking at his MO since coming out of retirement.
i think Eddie means leverage on fact whyte can use dazn to get more money in negotiation with top rank with the threat of it going to purse to purse bids if they don’t offer him right money and then espn and top rank missing out.
Exactly this. If anyone can show me a Promoter that says on behalf of his client we will take anything you offer then great. All Hearn is doing is driving the price up to ensure Whyte gets a fair deal. Dillian is on a 55/45 split which is a very fair deal. All Hearn is saying is that by being involved DAZN will likely match any offer coming from Top Rank as the fight doesn’t sell in the US. You only have to look at the Teo and Conlan purse bids to see Hearn has a solid budget to work from Hearn knows if it goes to purse bids DAZN, Sky Sports and BT Sports will all be involved. The fight is worth a minimum of £25m and on a purse bid Whyte gets £11m of that. He’s essentially saying they won’t be short changed on the deal. By consistently talking about the fight it puts pressure on fury to not vacate. As what does it say about him if he swerves the Whyte fight for an easier tickover. Fury doesn’t earn the same unless it’s AJ or Usyk. Hearn is simply doing his job for Whyte by trying to force the fight.
Fury should drag the Pudding Whyte to Maddison Square Gardens for this fight. That would soon put the shits up Eddie.

Don't mention Garden to Eddie. Joshua got battered by a fatty at Madison Square Garden then Whyte was poleaxed at Matchroom Square Garden.
He has always loved that Matchroom loot. Remember when he tried pimping himself out in America just to realise he wouldnt be getting that PPV loot level money and came running back.
WBC rule 2.12: Division of Proceeds in a Purse Offer. The net purse offer (after deduction of the WBC certification fees) shall be divided as follows: a) 70% for the champion and 30% for the challenger. b) 50% to each contender in the case of vacant titles or elimination bouts. c) 55% to the champion and 45% to the interim champion, in the event of such a bout. d) Notwithstanding the terms of subparagraphs a), b) and c) above, the Board of Governors may, in its discretion and by a majority vote, modify the division of purse offer proceeds between boxers in a purse offer in unusual or special cases, like the consideration of the outstanding marketing value of one of the boxers. The modification of the split will be limited to three categories: 70-30%; 60-40%; and 55-45% for the Champion and challenger, respectively, except in the most exceptional circumstances, in which the split may be modified to 50-50%.
