I went with Moorer by a decision as I think he was quicker. But if he opts to slug with Mercer he could be stopped. Great fight
I see Moorer opting to start with, being careful against his opp. Being successful with his sp jab. But Moorer maybe gets too confident in himself and goes in for the attack. That's where Ray loves it! Moorer s not great chin gets tested and he fails. Mercer pummel s him and we have a repeat of the Moorer - Holyfield 2 ending. Would be one of those 90 s entertainment fights.
Moorer should be able to outbox Mercer, but will his chin hold up when he eventually decides to start trading with Mercer? Will Mercer come in shape for this one? With little confidence I would pick Moorer to win a decision after picking himself off the deck a couple of times, but I could also just as easily see Mercer violently KOing Moorer when Michael tries to brawl
If it is Mercer at his best, he would find a way to stop Moorer. If the Bert Cooper from the Mercer fight fought Moorer, he would likely stop him, as well.
Do not see Mercer getting in anything but half assed shape for a former lh. Sharp for the A plus guys but back to his habit of terrible shape for the guys he does not worry about. So he drops a decision in what should have been an easy victory.
