Through the years, my Son and I have loaned or given various fight films to my Granddaughter. One box in particular had some very old boxing films in it. She was looking through them over the weekend, after ordering, and receiving, a device that could play them. In 1 partial fight (what's still playable) she's positive it's Gene Tunney in the ring. She thinks the other one MAY be Harry Greb, but she's not sure, having never seen Greb fight. It's probably someone else. I'm going over later this evening, with my wife, to have supper over there. I DOUBT (HIGHLY DOUBT, actually) that it's Greb, but I'll look and see if I can determine who it is. In any event, it's an old fight and certainly worth watching whatever is still there to watch. WISH ME LUCK ON THIS ONE!

Are you going to double post this in Classic?

I think this should be double posted in Classic.

If I determine that it's a part of a Tunney - Greb fight, I'll definitely post about it in Classic.

I repeat, though, that I have SERIOUS doubts that it's Greb. We're leaving. I'll let you know who I think the other boxer actually is. (It's even possible that I might recognize the referee, which COULD tell me who the mystery boxer is.) All I have to go on right now is my Granddaughter saying: "He is smaller than Gene." If nothing else, we'll get a great supper. My Granddaughter can really cook Chicken and Wine. Yummy!

Even if it’s Gene Tunney it would still be an excellent find, it isn’t like there is load of footage of him as well.

Good luck by interested to hear what happens.

So you loaned your granddaughter your fight films but you didn't know who was featured on the films?

    It'll be Tunney-Carpentier.

It's the worst kept secret in boxing that the fight between Greb and Walker exists in the hands of sworn to secrecy collectors.

All we can do is hope one of them is for some reason willing to pay a tonne of money, blacklist himself and upload it to YouTube.

Post it here. If is Tunney he can be id. I fairly certain of that. The much shorter man / slider man could be Greb.

Nah. I never heard of this rumor and I come across my share of collectors. It is possible a collector might have a copy of Greb, and if found he got it in Pittsburgh ( Greb's home town ) or Cleveland. I check the wills of Tunney's old manger for openers. The two men fought five times.
