    Here's my list:

    1. Bob Satterfield

Reason: Very good resume, Big Puncher, Exciting Fighter, Elite Finisher. Had decisive wins over Harold Johnson, Tommy Gomez, Carmone "Nick" Barone and a knockout over Oakland Billy Smith in light heavy. Drew with Harold Carter and had wins over John Holman 2x, Frankie Daniels 2x, Julio Mederos 2x, Johnny Summerlin, Marty Marshall, Lee Oma, Elkins Brothers, Howard King, Ben Wise, Cleveland Williams and two big upset wins over top contender Bob Baker in 1 and easily outpointed the Hard Punching Cuban Giant Nino Valdes that would easily be his career best performance.

20+ loses only from good opponents including Joey Maxim, Archie Moore, Holman Williams and close fights against ATG Ezzard Charles, Rex Layne, Jake LaMotta, Clarence Henry (superstar during his time), Harold Carter (Solid Contender), Charley "Doc" Willliams and almost everybody above cuz Satterfield gave them a sh*t load of rematch. Rarely lose to bums.

To give him more credit, dudes a frickin' super middleweight with a glass jaw! cuz of that, it made all of his achievement look much more impressive.

    2. Zora Folley

Reasons: Impressive Resume, Good all rounder, Underrated IQ and Ring Magazine top 10 for 11 F*CKING YEARS STRAIGHT!. Wins over Nino Valdes, Willie Besmanoff 2x, Wayne Bathea 2x, Eddie Machen, Doug Jones, Mike DeJohn, Bob Cleroux, Billy Daniels, Alex Miteff and Howard King. Knocked out Henry Cooper, and past his past he defeated Oscar Bonavena, schooled George Chuvalo, knocked out Bob Foster and had a really really horrible draw against Karl Mildenberger.

Loses? huh! during his prime, he only loss to a peak Liston in a good fight (unlike Patterson who got destroyed). Controversially lost Brian London in their bout on England. The 2nd loss to Jones was a close battle where Folley was already past his best and to Terrell who is the future world champ. Besides that, he drew against Machen.

Honestly, I think his resume is almost as good as Patterson's, he's qualified to be top 20 and without a doubt top 25.

    3. Clarence Henry

Reasons: Terrific Puncher, Good Chin, Very Athletic, Monstrous Left Hook. He's like another version Gerry Cooney. While Cooney is overrated, he's the polar opposite. When he was the unstoppable force, he actually proved it by knocking out real opponents and top contenders, not some washed up or fading boxers. He had a damn good resume at least for a guy who had a short prime which lasted only 2 years.

He knocked out UNDEFEATED Bob Baker and beat such men as Irish "Bob" Murphy, Bob Satterfield, Willie Bean, Turkey Thompson, Jimmy Bivins, Charlie "Doc" Williams, Rusty Payne, Omelio Agramonte 2x and John Holman in only TWO years.

Loses only to a close SD against Harold Johnson and was schooled by a peak Archie Moore (nothing to be ashamed bout that) that loss would damage Henry's eyes permanently and he was never the same again. Sad to see he's forgotten these days.

    4. Cleveland Williams

Reasons: ATG Punching Power, Very Athletic, Fast Hands, Underrated Resume. I know, I know. Some of you might think that he's overrated but plz let me explain and I'll try my best not to overrate him. His resume is kinda underrated, He beat: Omelio Agramonte, John Holman, Frankie Daniels 2x, Billy Daniels 2x, Sonny Banks (prospect), Young Jack Johnson, Alex Miteff, Wayne Bethea, Tod Herring, D*ck Richarson, Ernie Terrell and a questionable draw against Machen. You can see the frustration of being highly avoided.

BUT his best achievement is from his loses to Sonny Liston. He possess something others don't, and it's the ability to stand toe to toe with Sonny. No one gave peak Liston much of a fight except him. Dude gave him hell! Bloodied his nose, trading shots, backing him up and even trapping him on the corner. His h2h abillity is fairly limited I can tell you that.. but he had a better chin than credited for and parries and block punches really well.

As for loses, he avenged his first loss by knockout, was knocked out by Satterfield, loss two wars against Liston and the 2nd fight with Terrell. Speaking of Terrell, what's wrong with Williams losing the 2nd fight? Terrell came fully prepared and was still a close fight nonetheless, my man came in there and clinched him like he never did before. A typical rematch where the other guy won the 2nd fight, nothing wrong with that.

He should've probably rate higher than guys like Tua, Ruddock, Briggs, Morrison, Ruiz, Lyle, Shavers etc... I'm not saying his literally ATG, MAD UNDERRATED, No. Just saying that He should be rate higher than guys I just listed above me.

    5. Eddie Machen

Reason: Highly skilled, Iron Chinned, Very Technical. Had wins over Nino Valdes 2x, Mike DeJohn 2x, Julio Mederos 2x, John Holman, Johnny Summerlin, Tommy "Hurricane" Jackson, Bob Baker, Willie Besmanoff, Alex Miteff, Wayne Bethea, Bert Whitehurst and Doug Jones (pre prime). The only man to last the distance with Peak Sonny.

Might not be a great, but really underrated these days.. Only lost to the best of the best. On his best day, could give anybody trouble, kinda like another version of Jimmy Young...I rate him somewhere 20-30, that's the best I can give for him.

Please share your thoughts, let me know your opinion, and tell your list too

Is there really a heavyweight who hasn't been overrated at one point?

Damn except for bob Satterfield that top 5 list is exactly mine lol.
Oh and i have Michael Spinks in there too.
The guy fought three legitimate Hall of Fame fighters, Dwight Qawi, Larry Holmes, and Mike Tyson, and beat two of the three, winning 3 fights out of 4 against fellow Hall of Fame fighters.

The first light heavyweight champion since Tunney to step up and win the Heavyweight world title, after whipping Hall of Famer Dwight Muhammad Qawi, Marvin Johnson, Eddie Muhammad, and Yaqui Lopez, among others.

Mike Spinks also has two victories over the heavyweight of all time, an aging Larry Holmes, and a resounding of the hard hitting Gerry Cooney.

So much comes down to personal preference and interpretation in here mate so i'm certainly not going to overly disagree with your choices. Staying away from really big names is especially sound.

Jack Dempsey is either overrated or underrated hysterically in either direction.

So depending on where you sit- he is both the best and worst choice.

None of the guys in the OP are underrated IMO. Cleveland Williams, especially, is enormously overrated.

HWs don't get underrated. Genuinely doesn't happen.

Ingemar Johansson tends to get a bit underrated.

I don’t agree. Plenty of fighters especially pre 70s are dismissed as amateurs compared to today’s fighters (which is rubbish).
I can agree with you on Cleveland he gets over rated a lot. But men like Satterfield, Henry, Zora and Machen if I told you they could compete with Holyfield you’d laugh but it would be true.
