This fight reminds me so much of the De La Hoya-Sturm fight. Everybody thought including myself that Oscar was going to go in there and beat this bigger natural MW easily, and Sturm went in there and put on one of his best performances of his career and got shafted. I think Caleb has a shot at doing the same. I favor Canelo and im rooting for Canelo to win, but im not on the same boat as everyone whos predicting a KO or as some have put it, an annihilation of epic proportions. I stand by what ive been saying for months and that is Plant is going to give canelo his toughest fight since GGG. We'll see tonite.
I just rewatched Canelo vs Saunders. I can say that Saunders is "much" better fighter than Plant. Plant fight gonna be much easier for Canelo.
Plant has to be perfect for 12 rounds to win the fight. I don't see that happening when he even blocked punches with his face against Caleb Truax.
I’m thinking late, maybe 9 or 10th. Plant will be on his bicycle for as long as possible. He’s also got decent size abs a good chin. That will not win rounds for him but will keep him on his feet. He might finish on his feet but will never get a decision no matter what he does. I favor Canelo but he’s not a huge KO threat at this weight or at LH. He’s a pretty good boxer and will land the bigger shots.
