Even the sixth round was ominous. As the old cliche goes, if that round went another thirty seconds who knows what could have happened. There’s no boxer in the world who ramps up the pace like Canelo does in an instant. It’s testament though to Plant’s ability that Canelo was patient through to the 11th round.

Canelo hit him with very good right hooks to the body in rd 1. Plant did exactly zilch in that rd.

100% agree, Plant seems a natural non PED fighter and he deserves respect. Canelo was mentally unravelling until the KO.

I agree but it just takes one moment. If Canelo gets hit on the counter by a Beterbiev he’s in serious trouble.

 

That was an enjoyable fight from start to finish.

Plant started well with the jab and the hook, only to have Canelo overtake him on my card with a consistent body attack. Plant managed to box and counter his way back in the 8th and 9th on my card to make it close once more, but Canelo regained control in the 10th and then blasted him out in the following round.
