How did your scorecards look before Canelo knocked Plant out?

I had it 97-93 and I stand by that, but I could have seen it a little tighter.

Whenever there is a higher volume light puncher versus a lower volume power puncher it's always controversial.

 

Very one sided. Did not score exactly but I think 2-3 rounds is the best you can do for Plant. He was pretty good with his jab but Canelo was landing the bigger shots, and just enough to take most of the rounds.

 

98 - 92 Canelo going into rnd 11.

I'm no Canelo nut huger either and same goes for Plant. I was scoring as objective as possible. Many people ,I think , scores against Canelo subconsciously . In the rnd by rnd I was in the minority that had Canelo well ahead. The fight was competitive but Canelo was breaking down Plant. Plant threw many punches that were blocked. People also were not scoring the thundering body shots Canelo was landing.

didn't score the fight, as it never matters in Canelo's case anyway.

That's why I'm laughing at people saying Canelo was "setting" up Plant.
He was having problems and in the end came through but he wasn't by any means being strategic with Plant.

 

3 official judges had it 8-2 7-3 6-4 for Canelo going into round 11.

for me 6-4 was best card. 7-3 ok anything else too wide.

 

It was pretty close. 5 of the first 7 were clear Plant rounds Canelo landed very few in the first half of the fight (he had a good 6th to be fair and the 3rd or 4th he took) Between the commentary being blind or told who to say is winning(they do that on sky tv too) and the crowd roaring at every missed shot canelo threw its understandable that some peeps would assume Canelo was ahead but you get used to the way boxing works and how scorecards can be so wrong. Neither guys was more than a point ahead at the stoppage imo

 

That bs when they said how canelo was lulling him in cleverly.....erm no Canelo was taking a breather coz he was knackered lol

For people who keeps on saying Canelo wasn't doing anything , exactly what was Plant doing? Flurry that hit gloves and arm to keep Canelo of him? The occasional jab that landed? Canelo was landing and landing power punches on Plant.

Canelo was winning from the better punches landed, affective aggression, and ring generalship.

 

Ring generalship isn't missing punches. Plant is a boxer his style isn't power. He was snapping Canelos head back with that jab.
