The main flaw in Canelo's performance was that he didn't use the jab much, especially in the early rds. Gave Plant one thing less to have to worry about and made him more comfortable. Against someone like Bivol, Canelo can't afford to neglect the jab like that.

Otherwise, he had his usual tight defence and hard, accurate punches and also cut off the ring better than I think I've seen him do before.

I can't believe there were people who actually thought Plant had a chance.

you me be right...Bivol is the eager of the two to fight at all cost,he even say that he could go down to 168 to fight him.Beterbiev on the other hand, is not afraid of course but will not accept a rehydration clause that for sure, because he's a natural lhw.

Out of curiosity, why do you think that was? Was it out of blind hope, or due to an agenda like the one that Olu -- who scored the fight 8-2 in favour of Plant through 10 completed rounds -- clearly has?

See the press conference where Canelo himself admits Plant gave him problems and we must not deny his efforts. If the great man Canelo who I admire can say so then I take my direction from him not you. I think he understands Plant’s capability better than you do.

    Bit of both.

Mostly I think was guys who just desperately wanted Canelo to lose, Plant was next up so made themselves believe he had a shot.

I think others there's the usual agendas - guys who nuthug Canelo and want to make this into a bigger win than it really is; guys who will always back the USA fighter; etc.

I also wonder whether there's a few that wanted it to be big because it was an undisputed fight and we don't get them that often (partly because fighters duck like mad these days to keep their belts and their orgs do nothing to undermine this)... It still comes down to the same problem though, deluding oneself in the vain hope that it wasn't going to be as one-sided as expected.

He is blind if he scored it like you say if not I owe him an apology due to your misrepresentation.

What else do you expect him to say?

"Dude had nothing, way too easy, why is this division so ****?"

No sensible man with an eye on his legacy plays down his own wins.

So you've gone from nuthugging Plant before the fight, telling everyone that would listen that he "will" win... To now nuthugging Canelo by letting him state that it's a more creditable win than it really is?

Okay, gotcha, no independent thought to see, here.

Again, he has every motivation to big-up the man he cruised through and no motivation whatsoever to play him down.

You need to learn how to assess the motivations of people making statements before regurgitating them as absolute fact - because this is something even kiddies can see, it's not exactly 4D chess.

And you're calling someone else blind? If that isn't the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know what is.

Maybe you're the one who is blind. Blinded by your agenda as represented by your 8-2 scorecard in favour of Plant, and lacking the balls to climb down after getting called out for being shameless by numerous people.

Okay so you believe Canelo is unbiased when he has every reason to be biased.
But Taylor scoring it wide when he has no obvious reason to be biased - well he DKSAB then and should obviously be ignored?

Do you respect the views of top fighters or not?

I don't expect good responses to them... And I'd be disappointed, so far, if I had.

Enjoyable fight and good effort from Plant who’s stock certainly hasn’t dropped. Don’t like Canelo but cleaning out a division against 3 undefeated belt holders in 11 months is some going. Hope he fights Benavidez next.

Hot take: Canelo stops Golovkin in a third fight.
