How do you see current Canelo Alvarez faring against a tough and crafty LHW like Victor Galindez? Both are practically almost the same size and are known to be versatile fighters and clever counterpunchers. Think this would have been an interesting match up.

Galindez will take Canelo's lunch money and leave him in a heap sometime later in the fight. Victor ain't a worn out heavy drinking Kovalev.

Canelo's light heavyweight resume consists of stopping previously stopped shot Kovalev. Perhaps in the future Canelo would be the choice. But, as of now, Galindez, who is far more proven against quality opposition at this weight.

I think that a fight pairing Victor Galindez against Saul Canelo Alvarez has to be a rather interesting fight. Victor does have the edge in experience, he does have a lot of quality opponents on his blotter, Richie Kates, Alvaro (Yaqui) Lopez, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, Len Hutchins, Jorge Ahunada, Pierre Fourie, and Mike Rossman. Canelo to his credit has his victories over his current competition, including a methodical victory over Sergey Kovolov to win the 175 lb title. Victor reigned as WBA Light Heavyweight champion from Dec 1974-Sept 1978, April 1979-Nov 1979. Canelo would be the aggressor, looking to land on the scar tissue laden face of Galindez while Victor counters off the ropes with his quick right hand. The fight will be even up until the championship rounds, 11 thru 15. Victor then pulls ahead with more counters to an exhausted Alvarez who chooses to hold, Victor pushes him away, catching Canelo with a counter right hand, staggering his game opponent. Victor, suffering from a lacerated right eyebrow charges ahead, landing more often in fear of a stoppage. Both fighters are exhausted at the end. Victor is declared the winner by majority decision.

I really like your synopsis here, Richard. But we simply don't know how Canelo would respond in a 15 rounder.

Thank you my friend. Those three extra rounds can make a difference in a championship fight, a fighter many times has to have good stamina.

Is this a serious question? Really? Off of one fight against a shot fighter you ask how he would do against one of the greatest light heavies?

A huge gulf separates a battle tested, true champion like Galindez from an imposter like Canelo.

Victor was a tank. Similar build to Canelo.
But Victor is battle tested beyond Canelo.

Canelo comes at Victor he is going to get steam rolled. And if he gets Victor on the ropes he's going to get countered.

I used to think Victor was just a crude slugger with no skill when I first started watching boxing.
But then I checked him out closer and he's really cagey with an iron chin and the heart of a lion.

It looks like Canelo is going after he WBC cruiserweight title now.

Say what you want about the man, he is certainly up for a challenge!
