Great post. We all know about the Matchroom spin but 'on the brink of a world title shot' is up there with their most deluded statements. Benn should be fighting the likes of Kavaliuaskas, Avanesyan, Lipinets, Buatev, Besputin etc. Fighters in their prime at top European/fringe world level.

What a waste of time DAZN has become. I subscribed for the cheeseman bill as thought it would get me in the mood for the Fury v Wilder fight. Thought it would be worth it for that and Whyte v Wallin card. After the Whyte v Wallin fight was called off never bothered with that card and have only logged in once to DAZN since to cancel it. It's basically a monthly subscription to watch 1 or maybe 2 British title level type cards.
Eddie saying again he wants 60 cards worldwide next year. Sure most would prefer quality over quantity. He barely has a stable for 30 a year
Yeah, I feel bad for you at the time you subbed. I was lucky that my sub cycle ended a few days after Liverpool, so cancelled then. The service definitely rewards those who dip in and out. I'll be very happy with the month I get up to 18th December, but would feel just as you did for the month after the Liverpool card.
The issue with Hearn is that he’s said so much on camera over the past ten years he can have his prior words used against him whenever he announces a card. He needs a different media strategy going forward with DAZN.
Daniyar Yellusinov, he's signed with Matchroom. He's ready to fight Conor Benn, but Benn doesn't want it. Benn could have fought Michael Mckinson, who is the next best domestic fighter and is ranked above Benn with the WBO (I think he is like number 4), but he said there's no reason to fight Mikey, unless he goes and wins a world title?
That's a really good point. I remember Eddie Hearn on Sky Sports News when Matchroom Boxing USA was launched. Eddie Hearn said he would soon become a powerhouse in american professional boxing. It would only be a matter of time before he would become the world's greatest boxing promoter.
I'll probably dip in again if they put some good stuff on but there's also something psychological about having a monthly subscription fror something that you only use once or twice which I think is going to be problematic for them (and other sports streaming companies) in my view. I dipped in to Boxnation once or twice for big fights over the years but with a tv channel I might only properly watch it on one or two days but I still would flick it on for a bit when channel surfing and catch some repeats. With Sky Sports on Now TV I might only use it for a couple of days but because of the almost 24/7 type tv channel I might find myself watching a repeat of a fight or match just because that's whats come on next. With DAZN that doesn't happen because it's not a tv channel and if I want to watch a documentary or some old fights it's easier to just punch it in to a search engine and end up on Youtube or somewhere than it is to go onto DAZN and scroll through fights.I have occasionally watched Woman's football when it's caught my attention when flicking channels or it's come on next but I'm not going to actively go in to a DAZN app or website to look for it.
