I admit it was funny to see but also strange sort of talk for a fight. It reminds me of guys who say that kind of stuff in sparring when they want to make an agreement to go easy.

Yes I do believe Pac has shown mercy in some fights especially if he knew he was well ahead. I believe he showed mercy to that clown Jeff Horn as he didn't anticipate getting robbed so blindly.
Plant knows that Caneloa has poor English so if he got Canelo talking he would have to concentrate on talking rather than fighting. Didn't work.
Clenelo's English is awesome now. I saw one interview the other day and dude literally said "for every action there is a reaction".
I kind of get it from a young guy fighting an older more respected fighter. That was rather cringe from a world champ.
Which would also offer Plant potential to steal late rounds from a mellower Canelo, as happened in that 9th (on all three official scorecards and many unofficial ones — even that of Chris/@CST80, who had given Plant nothing after the 1st). Reynoso appeared to succeed in putting a rocket up Canelo's ass, though, and got him back in touch with his mean streak. For Plant, I guess it seemed worth a try.
Before the fight at the presser, Plant talked about how Mexicans don't **** around, Plant said that's good because where he from, we don't **** around neither. Well after about 8 rounds in there with Canelo, Caleb started ****ing around. Trying to make all nice with Canelo lol. Caleb "I respect your skills" Plant maybe he should change his nickname from "Sweet Hands" to "Sweet Talk". Caleb "Lets Talk" Plant : "Please don't hurt me, Canelo" "pweeze pweeze, Canelo, don't knock me out, your skills are so good, lets be friends now, carry me to a decision". Canelo : "I like it" Caleb already ran his mouth beforehand. Canelo promised he had something special for the Sweet Talking One and he wasn't gonna let Sweet Talk talk his way outta this one!
