Well, sooner or later Underdog journeyman should lost fight. Okey, he had gave upsets in row cos vs Ekimov, Ward and Burton, Michel he was an underdog. It is cool and now nothing unexpected that he had lost vs Buatsi. Actually Ward had been undefeated and with WBO European title until underdog journeyman had dethroned him. I know that people will tell, this is not legit title but this is continental level title, WBO does have continental and World level titles. JT and A.J does have WBO World Title, if WBO Euro title is not legit, then also their World titles are not respectable. Buatsi was better and no shame here for journeyman Bolotniks. For World level Bolotniks looks that always will be a journeyman, for euro level something like a gatekeeper, might also win euro title. Noting more.
Do you know if that's being planned for December? Buatsi's biggest problem, or certainly one of them has been his inactivity, he really needs to build on his momentum now and stay active to work up to a world title fight in 2022.
Good to see Buatsi finally stepping up above complete tomato can level having been boxing as an amateur since 2011 and being nearly 29 years old. **** finally. Is all I can say. He has certainly a jumped at least two levels here with this opponent.
Great fight! Progressing correctly, from his previous fight of a good Euro level guy in Bolotniks to a world level top 10 in Vlasov.
No, it's the right fight at the right time. If JB can't beat Vlasov with home advantage and with the momentum and coach he has now, then he would probably not have beaten Bivol/Beterbiev/Joe Smith Jnr in any case regardless of who he fights next. Josh will be 29 in March, he's a special talent, and he's got the experience and ability to win this fight. It's now or never...
Vlasov just beat Smith Jr clearly but got robbed.. Vlasov has never been stopped and is the 3rd best Light Heavy imo after Beterbiev and Bivol. I think Hearn should have gone for Sullivan Barrera or Badou Jack.
It's certainly a high risk fight for Buasti and he could of chosen an easier top 10 opponent. However if Buasti does win (big if), it proves he is certainly World level and is good preparation ahead of his likely mandatory against Bivol who is an elite fighter.
I’d like to see Callum Smith v Bivol next and the winner fight Buatsi. Give Buatsi one more fight against someone like Craig Richards.
