Are you suggesting that no ATG fighter ever struggled with an opponent that was inferior? You want to go that route because Golovkin struggled with shot fighter Kassim Ouma, against B level fighter Derevyanchenko, Jacobs, and against Canelo a fighter moving up, twice.
Did you say Derevyanchenko, the guy that CANELO DUCKED? Canelo would rather fight cans like Plant than risk a dogfight with SD Well, maybe now after he's been softened up a bit.
What exactly would be the point of moving up unless he could get Alvarez for a third fight? There are no trinkets to snatch outside of Alvarez and besides Benavidez (who is apparently on Alvarez's short-list) and maybe a Jacobs rematch, the class either has Canelo's leftovers or a hodgepodge of unproven guys (Morrell, Gongora) or faded contenders (Rosado, Chudinov, Dirrell). He is better off at 160 and vying for the Middleweight Championship, something that eluded him against Alvarez.
I like to deal with reality, and everyone who follows boxing, and the MW division knows that one of the biggest reasons why Canelo dumped De La Hoya was because he got him stripped of the IBF title. Reality is that GGG was forced to vacate his IBF title because he did not want to commit to fight Derevyanchenko, and only agreed to fight him once he lost to Jacobs. Charlo who is more skilled beat up SD, Canelo would KHTFO.
Canelo is undisputed at 168.. Why would he go down to 160? GGG come up or forget fighting Canelo a 3rd time
It says that Canelo ain't as good as some people think he is. That said he got the W and that's what counts I guess.
