He (Kovalev) had just had a hard bout and had been dropped in that fight. 2 1/2 months later he's back in the ring with Canelo, including a long flight from Russia to the US.

The Smith fight was shameful. THREE WEEKS from a difficult fight with John Ryder AND a transatlantic flight and he's in the ring with Canelo. Anyone traveling from Liverpool to Vegas gets at least a few days of jet lag...imaging having jet lag and going right to work with your work being a fight with Canelo. I've had people here say "Smith should have been in shape there is no excuse". Ok....let's have Canelo fight a 175 pound Callum Smith again, this time three weeks after fighting GGG in Vegas AND a transatlantic flight.

You don't get to be an ATG or "the greatest Mexican fighter" if your competion is a faded drained Kovalev and Smith, Avni Yilidim (!), Rocky Fielding and BJ Saunders. Who should be fight? Benevidez, Charlo, Boo Boo, GGG, Bivol, Beterbiev. Replace those other names with the six I've just typed and it's a different story.

$80.00 is nothing. Would I like to see better fights? Of course, but if I have the slightest interest in watching the fight in real time without any connectivity issues or any other BS , I will pay to watch.

I think a Charlo fight would be very interesting.

Three weeks? Smith fought Ryder on 11-23-2019, he had an entire year off + a month before fighting Canelo on 12-19-2020. Did you just look up his boxrec and not pay attention to the year? lmao the basis for everything you said here is complete BS.

He said Callum Smith fought Canelo a mere 3 weeks after fighting Ryder, when it was really over a year later. And you ate the 3 weeks story up like a lapdog. Just shows how clueless you were to like and then quote something so patently unfactual. Shows how gullible you are, you'd believe anything that makes you feel better lol.

5 week camp, had lost 3 of his last 6, and took big shots in his last fight where he was almost stopped. Plus, Kovalev's alcohol issues are well-known. It's the definition of a cherry-pick. It's telling he hasn't tried to fight anyone else at the weight and wants Bivol to come down to 168.

Canelo has fought a lot of "filler" opponents. I was just thinking today about the time he fought amir khan and liam smith. Like really guy? These are not credible opponents especially at that weight class. Also rocky fielding and yildrim. Just horrible opponents. He masks it by staying active, 4 fights this year. But none of them were competitive. This is smoke and mirrors just like the second half of floyd mayweathers career.

3 fights this year and he beat a mandatory plus two titilists. That’s very credible. Him beating his opponents easily doesn’t make them non credible.

In 11 months he won four titles and won three unifications. Nothing like Floyd.

Could you imagine taking a truck load of PEDs just to fight someone like Plant and have it go 11 rounds lol

Jacobs, Kovalev, Smith and BJS are Canelos best wins (I had Canelo losing both fights to GGG)

Nothing wrong with the standard opponent Canelo has been facing in the above 4 fighters. However now Canelo has beaten the best at SMW in BJS and Smith, there is no one left at SMW or MW that is a worthy unless he rematchs GGG who has done nothing of note since their last fight and is getting on in age.

Canelo needs to step up to LHW and fight Bivol or Beterbiev. Only two worthy opponents that may beat him (bar GGG).

Under the circumstances I thought Saunders had a legit shot at the W. The rest, no. Kovalev on paper looked legit but in reality he'd been shafted with weight clauses and a short camp after a war with Yarde.
