I think Canelo is a top fighter and the best around now because of experience and putting it all together, and against the guys he fights that does great and it is a good showcase for that. but with another top guy like a Hearns or Spinks or Ward or Hopkins he would have to put it all together and deal with offense which the average guys he has fought recently do not have. Could he do it? Sure at times, but he would be more even with who he is fighting. These guys now are not at his level..

Hearns isn't going to be the favorite over Canelo at 160 and above. But he beats Canelo at 154 pretty comfortably

Canelo is being a bit overrated at 160 and above. Most greats would demolish the guys Canelo has knocked out.

What are you talking about? Hearns was beating Iran horribly in the first fight and was moving into finish Barkley and got decked by a right-hand. Hearns had even damaged Barkleys ribs in that fight.
You think GGG troubled Canelo with his jab?? Multiply that jab by 5 and Hearns would bust him up with that jab.

There is NO WAY Canelo won the first fight. Tell me which rounds you gave him?

Right because CANELO never cherry picks right?
Waits till GGG is old.....still lost.
Fights KOV who is so washed up It wasn't even funny.
And KOV was still landing that jab.
Virgil Hill at Light Heavy jabs CANELO to death. Canelo couldn't deal with Hills jab and movement.

That jab by GGG did'nt have alot of sting in it, which is why Canelo was reaching him with power.

You're not factoring in alot of things when you make an assesment.
Barkley was able to beat Hearns because he was physically more more durable than he was.
Both Canelo and GGG are more durable than Hearns.

While Hearns got caught by Barkley the first time they fought, Barkley outhustled and outpointed Hearns when they rematched.
Hearns could be beat by strong durable fighters who could punch.

I didn't say he wasn't but watch Iran work the body he took Hearns legs and smashed him. I didn't say anything on Canelo beating Tommy I just made an observation on what Barkley did to beat Hearns.

Why do you fixate on Plant I haven't mentioned him once! Canelo fought him because he was ranked either number 1 or 2,should he have avoided him?
He went the distance with Jacobs oh dear ,oh dear,so did Golovkin! He avoided Golovkin? He faced him twice,I'm not convinced he won either fight,I watched the second one in Thailand in the company of some Texans who thought Gennady won. He is a natural super middle and you are trashing him because he hasn't fought Beterbiev?
Andries was really a tough journeyman who beat another tough journeyman,he couldnt box and was just a plodder.Hearns lost to the best men he faced.Great fighter but not a great middle and Alvarez has some way to go before he is too.

I scored the fight as I watched it. I’m not rewatching it. I had him edging out the win but it could have gone either way. Thought Canelo landed the better shots throughout.

Tommy Hearns is an ATG WW but I think his middleweight run was less great.

That said, even at MW I think Hearns punched harder than most everyone Canelo has fought. Good fight imo. I think that Hearns could make Canelo start thinking twice and keep him guessing enough to maybe be ahead on the cards but I also think Canelo has the power to ko hearns.

I honestly don't know I can picture either of them winning by stoppage or decision (tho a canelo decision would be controversial ;)

Hearns will be problematic for Canelo because of his speed and slickness. For as long as he can keep ginger at range he's going to shoeshine him all night and make things difficult.

Canelo will be a problem for Hearns because of his chin, power and boxing brain. It's clear that Canelo has an ATG chin and I don't think even Hearns is gonna dent him for as long as he's defensively responsible. Canelo has also adopted quite a cerebral way of fighting. It seems clear to me that he works out the opponent throughout the fight, downloads the info, works the body to slow them down and then unleashes a crushing attack later in the fight to end it. He did it with Plant, Saunders and Kovalev. I don't fancy Hearns' chin against a flush Canelo bomb.

When Hearns looks good he looks really good, but his best weights were lighter and he doesn't like punishment too much.

    I can't really decide.

Why don't you actually watch a boxer instead of googling him on boxrec.
Hill fought at home because he sold out the arena and was a huge draw there.
And for a light heavy Hill was very fast and could move for all 12 rounds. And his jab was among the best at light heavy.
What made Hill dangerous was he never tried to fight different he stuck to his style that worked for him.
True most of his fights were in his hometown but he defended his title in France,Germany, and England.
    He also fought in Australia.
Tell me again in how many countries Canelo has fought again?
Hill was so good at staying with in his style that even in his forties well passed his prime he was still winning.
