Joe Louis would do it. He would stand with Foreman. Beat him to the punch and then beat him to the counterpunch. Both hands in combinations. The Brown Bomber wouldn't be crouching or bending into Foreman's uppercuts, his wheelhouse. Louis straight down the pipe.

It would be a horrible experience for George Foreman. It wouldn't be a fatigue knockout, just a straight up a$$ whipping

Probably. Liston might also have a good chance.

I can't think of anyone else.

    Joe Louis
    James Jeffries
    Lennox Lewis
    Vitali Klitschko
    Max Baer
    Riddick Bowe

Not saying all of them would beat Foreman in a brawl, but they'd have a chance.

Wait, when it comes to boxing George I agree with you on Louis, Lewis and possibly Bowe. For sure I think Louis would beat him.

I was thinking toe-to-toe trading punches. I'm not sure those guys could do that for long at all, because that to me mean they're actually trading.

I'm not sure ANYONE could stand there and trade with George without getting knocked cross-eyed.

Toe to toe. That’s in your face, sans skill, punch for punch. In that very theatre, Lyle came close but no cigar.

Hard to think of anyone given Foreman’s ideal combo of power and chin, and let’s throw in tremendous heart also. I can see Liston beating George but along with equitable power and chin, Sonny couldn’t help but infuse a great measure of boxing skill into the argument. A wise, still powerful Dad teaching his over grown son a lesson.

I think all of them would have decent chances. Foreman was amazing, but he wasn't superman.

Lennox Lewis. Physically stronger, I mean wayy stronger. Bigger. Way more skilled and proven.

Not sure how Lewis supposedly being stronger helps him in a stand there and trade type of fight? Unless you mean punching power? In which case there is very little evidence of that. I don't think anyone hits "much" harder than Foreman. Ditto for physical strength. No one ever overpowered or outmuscled him in either career.

Hoylfield said Foreman was both stronger and hit harder than Lewis. Sure, old Foreman did more modern strength training but his punching power isn't going to dramatically increase by lifting weights, especially since he had a 10 year layoff and lost a lot of his fast twitch muscle and athleticism.

Lewis also clearly had the worse chin. Even if for the sake of argument he hits harder, he'd need to take him out quickly or he'd get blasted out.

Bowe and Tyson would have the best chances. Vitali has the chin but he liked to fight in a more measured controlled way rather than slugging away up close

Yes, but Foreman had been inactive for a while, was rusty, & when he was having his way with Lyle-the bell was accidentally rung one minute early!

We must assume everyone is at their ultimate prime & circumstances including officiating were ideal.
I do not think Lyle comes very close without these two advantages.

For those saying Lewis, I just want to see what happens when Foreman tries that pushing **** on him. I'd wager Lewis has greater physical strength.
