There was not much separating him, Douglas in Tokyo was a great fighter.
But Bowe was not near prime when he fought Golota. Less energy, diet & lack of training had sapped muscle.
He likely beats Golota in both fights, even if competitive, when prime.
Being out of his prime so early? That was all his fault.

As was installing the fridge in his bedroom.

Somebody once asked Alexis Arguello who the best fighter he ever saw was and his answer was Cassius Clay, before he became Ali.

I agree with you completely. The opinion of a person (like Arguello) who never saw people in the future absolutely has no credibility. The fact that Arguello was one of the best fighters of all time has no relevance. Thanks for clarifying that.

I have Ali as my #1 Heavyweight of All Time in resume and probably even head to head. He is overrated though by the general public, general sports fan. Many will tell say he is the greatest boxer of all time. A by product of his own boasting and personality.

That kind of makes him an easy choice here.

If you're saying he's the best heavyweight ever then it's stands to reason that he's right to say he's the best fighter ever because if he can beat any fighter ever in the ring in a boxing match then he gotta be the best and the greatest.

    Sarcasm? If not...

WTF? Tyson won every one of his big fights before prison homie!! I guess Thomas, Tucker, Biggs, Holmes and Spinks weren't considered big fights in the 80's?

If you consider Berbick as the big one, then what's with the above mentioned fights?

Let's do the time warp again, hey fellas!?

I can see the argument for him being over rated, but the most over rated?

How over rated can you be if you are legitimately the best in your weight class.

    Truth!

The only way Ali could actually be overrated would be if people on here were saying he could beat say Joe Louis and Evander Holyfield, with the three of them all in the ring at the same time, as in 2 against 1. I don't see anyone saying that.

What the hell are you talking about, Arguello saw Holyfield, Bowe, Tyson, and a fair ammount of Lewis, are you implying that the Heavyweights of today are on another level compared to those of the past???? LOL!
