Tua was never the same after the Ike fight ... he simply lost his spark ... I see Liston dominating wit his jab but it could have war like moments similar to the Ike fight ...
An exciting battle that Liston stays in control of with his mighty jab. Wins wide, but its never boring.
Liston was no Lennox Lewis. Tua was no Leotis Martin , Marty Marshall , Cassius Clay (after an embarrassing gift decision against Doug Jones and a yet even more embarrassing ugly undeserving lucky win over a journeyman in Henry Cooper) Actually Clay was one of the most undeserving challengers ever . Tua would have brutally KOd hypejob Sonny whom could only beat the likes of Floyd Patterson and some low level clubfighters who happened to contend in a very weak era for the HW division. James Toney and the 2005-7 Sam Peter would have schooled Liston . Liston could be considered a puncher only against the shakiest heavyweights and even some of them had a good chance at beating him .
easy win for dave the destroyer dont get people saying son wins comparing him to lennox is odd he could keep range all day and wasnt slow son was slow and didnt fight from range all day and was easy to read he gets beat up
Sonny Liston erases the concept of Tua in the first attosecond of the first round with a jab. Sonny Liston most underrated boxer in history. 84 metre reach, 15 metre fist size and stare so terrifying that Muhammad Ali's Parkinson is the result of Liston staring him down. He was 6'1 but weighed 420lbs and had a 69 inch chest. Every single human being in history feared him. Tyson Fury is 6'9 but still would look like a midget next to him. George Foreman pisses his pants whenever he thinks about Liston. Ditto for Tyson. Ali rolls in his grave whenever the term "Liston" is uttered in real life by anyone. Pay some respect to the most underrated being in the history of the universe.
It would look like Tua/Ike except the punches Liston throws would have something on them. Sonny would be sitting down on those shots unlike El Presidente
what makes you say that legend wouldnt look nothing like that son was slow ike wasnt and son didnt know to defend good against combos and easy to read he is destroyed
wrong a basic slow easy to read jab wouldnt do much why do you people always say that oh a jab will do no it needs to have movement behind it and not be slow
This is a textbook case of an embarrassingly biased post. Liston not considered a puncher lol! Everyone besides Patterson he beat was a "low level club fighter", even with World Class rankings, lol! Ali (when Clay) rallied & deserved the decision over Jones. It was very similar to Tyson over a fighter who had lost 4 of his last 5 fights, Tillis. Both were very young & immediately pre-prime & had for them sub-par performances but pulled it out in a learning experience.
